Default Derigibles

derigibles... NOT blimps! anyone ever heard of one being built or seen one? I team built one as a cadet at the Air Force academy years ago. we flew it a couple of home games but i think it has long been relagated to the library's collection. looking to design and build a new one using all new technology (alot has changed in 30 years....). any takers?

Okay........
I'll take a lesson in lighter-than-air stuff. What's the difference in the two?

Could you use Carbon fiber rod to build the structure and ripstop nylon to cover it?

Density Altitude. Your biggest foe when it comes to operating DIRIGIBLES. It's a friggin science that everyone seems to think is real easy to do. I still have that 22 ft airship for sale in the swapshop. I think it needs a great big FLYING GIANTS logo on the envelope. Or at least an Eat at Joe's sign.
