Default battery choice for DA-50 ignition and RX

hi allllll,
i got a "new second hand" wilhare edge540T V2, they are difficult to find in EUROPE, so finally found one second hand and requested the sellers adress, finally found resellers in UK, near enough to order for the next season ! LUCKY ! i got much more pleasure with this WH plane than with a c-arf extra330l 2 meters (78")
i think about changing the dual RX battery pack actually lipo 1500mAh from flight power to life123 batt 2 cells, i got an emcotec dpsi box. Could it be interesting to switch from lipo to lifeA123 for this application and or do you have experiences about life batt for this application ?
And for the ignition, i could pass from NIMH 4 cells to life A123 2 cells ? to save weight maybe, but i need a volt regulation device in this case. What about reliability?!
i dont want to take any risk and wanted to ask advises here, the winter is long here and i take time to think before buying.
Best regards Olivier

i use 2 1100a123's for my 50cc bird and been having great success. and for ignition i use a single 1500mah 4.8v nimh battery. but a single a123 will work for that also. some ignitions are rated for a single a123 battery like DA but 4.8 is just fine. plus i use a wolverine switch for the reciever.

wow :=)
i suppose dual cell for rx; 6.6 volt
and single cell 3.3V for ignition ? good ! enevn better than expected ! great ! this leads me to A123, "life time" of the A123 is better than lipo as i could read but sudden Volt drop has been one of the main element why ppl around me told me to dont use A123 liFe batts!

Ah ,
ow yes ok, they usually says not above 6 volts...
at same time i use a 3s lipo in my FF9 since a year without any trouble (normaly too high in voltage).
Thank you for all this !
the dirty winter here in europe gives me the time to order quietly for next season, thank you!

The DA ignition will work fine with a 2 cell Li-FePo4 (A123) battery, unregulated. If you use a Li-Po or a Li-Ion you will need a regulator

I think Olivier wants to use A123's and not have to mess with voltage regulators.
