Dudes,if you can make this do so. Tony is a super guy, would be a great time to head to sunny Fla. Would also be a great way to start your IMAC career. I'm sure Tony and crew would welcome you with open arms. Thanks Tony for steppin' to the CD role. Ton of work, headaches and very little other than knowing a job well done in return. If guys are doing the work we need to support the meet. John stepping to the plate AGAIN!! Dudes,,Florida companies are giving more than their share of product. They deserve some GIANT ups!! Thanks guys for what you're doing.Promises to be a stellar meet.

Well Darcy, Bob, Kelly, etc. Guy's we just got finished with the first day of competition and I must say you have missed one that will go down in history... 42 pilots from as far away as ohio and Georgia. We got 2 complete rounds in today and were able to get the two largest classes done with the third round.
The weather forcast for our area was wrong like always with temps being warm and winds topped out at about 18 - 24 mph 90 degree cross wind to the runway and box. But no problems everyone with the exception of basic handled it very well. To help basic out i let them land on our north south runway if they could not deal with the cross wind. I must say though that the strong winds only lasted about 3 to 4 hours 11 - 3 then slowly declined. The forcast for tomorrow is pretty much the same with winds peaking earlier. Tomorrow we will start off fying unkowns then finishing the third round and end it with some demonstration flying. Spectator turnout has been great about 400 throughout the day with a steady pace of people comming to see the scale aerobatics show. Inside r/c has been here all day today and are comming back tommorrow(great crew). well I'm really worn out and have to cut it short so I'll keep you guy's posted later The dictator Tony Fandino

Well giant crew this one is in the books. Every class flew three rounds and I have to commend all the competitors for staying focused and moving rapidly to be able to fly 5 class's of unkowns, Three class's of knowns and the demonstration flights for the spectators and get everything done by 2:30pm. The weather today was cold and windy with it getting colder as the day progressed. I think the wind chill had to be in the low 40's. The wind changed direction and turned out of the north which pushed everyone in towards the deadline. It was a tough day for the pilots brutily cold for Miami. I am happy to say everyone went home with there plane's,No major accidents. The Grand prize Raffle winner of the Aerotech 50cc YAK 54 was Joe Ryan from Georgia. He had to leave before the drawing due to the long drive home at the time I'm writing this I don't think he even knows he won the plane. When he was leaving I said "joe your going to leave before the raffle ?" he jokingly replied " Just bring it to the JR challenge and I'll get from you there, my dad crashed his Yak and wanted to replace the plane."
Then the drawing, John Sharpless drew the winning ticket and when i saw the name I almost fell back.talk about good karma, Congradulations Joe. Here are the final results: Basic Jordon Hamilton 4000 Chris Kersey 3786.38 Matt Scott 3714.99 Sportsman Michael Elder 5000 Ben Selock 4730.43 Gary Willis 4700.29 Intermediate Pedro Jordan 4983.89 Alan Cook 4851.25 Tom Reifsnyder 4632.05 Advanced Kenny Willis 4995.35 Steven Hamilton 4947.83 James Woodward 4602.72 Unlimited Dave Moser 5000 Jeff Shaw 4381.04 John Schroder 4355.66 For the complete results check the IMAC website Tony Fandino Contest Directors: Amps Annual Aerobatics Challenge 2005 IMAC Sportsman National Champion |
