Default Which carb for 3W 106?

I just picked up a 3W106 with a damaged carb. I would prefer to just buy a new one. Does anyone have any recommendations? The existing carb is a Tillotson but the # is scrubbed off. Maybe a WJ-71 would work? Any others that may run better? Thanks in advance.

The WJ 71 is easier to work with but I'm not sure the mounting bolt spread is the same.

You would have to make an adapter plate, bolt spacing is larger on the wga9, but it would work too.

Yes this is correct. One should also replace the pos, leaking phenolic carb. plate with an aluminum one.

I would be willing to bet that you would pick up another 100 or so rpm with the wga series carb too.

You would win. Try 200-300 more, easily. Been there etc. The wga-9 is calibrated for a 100 cc engine by Walbro. Any other smaller carb. is just throwing away power.

im not totally up to date with the correct part numbers,,but as i said, whatever one ,which is a walboro,,,,that goes on a da 100 will fit exactly with no mods,,and i cant speak for your engine ,but mine gained rpm and became very easy to start, until the plane broke up in midflight, going level full throttle.my blade tips never went supersonic, with the stock tillotson ,and dribbled fuel.even after gerhardt rebuilt it twice.

Ok so ...the WJ-71 is the walbro carb that is on the DA 100 that should fit on the 3W 100 and 3W 106 motors? I have an old Till carb and I am going to swap it for a walbro if I can figure out what will fit.
