The spektrum thread is a bit harsh and I'll change that but that was the truth I was one hundred percent sure that the recivier was toast and stuff happens you get faulty electronic equipment I was just suggesting in that and yes it came off to harsh that people should check there ar7000 due to the fact that many people I know have only had problems with that one receiver. Anyways I totally agree, this thread though I don't think gives off the same problem as the other, I was not saying that the batteries were bad I was asking if this would cause a brown out or a reboot of the Rx and as I stated in the first post the weather was cold and li-ion's don't like cold weather for extended amount of time and can lose voltage quite fast. It did lockout though and I couldn't replicate that right away because my battery in my Tx didn't voltage drop, here's what I believe happened the voltage dropped in my Tx under load and reduced the signal strength causing a lockout, and boom a crash. I apologize for titles of threads if they seemed harsh.

I can honestly say that 100% of my crashes were one way or another my fault. When I tanked my first big bird I SWORE that it was due to my futaba reciever. Turns out it was but only because I set up the airplane wrong Oh well you live an you learn its painful $$$$$$$$$ to be wrong

im sorry mate but I really dont think that a varying value of 0.3 volts on TX boot up for battery voltage constitutes
a faulty TX battery?
I'd be looking further if it was me... I dont think you have found the root cause of the problem yet!

As to the other thread and the wire breaking off. Just like with the 9100 reciever, the remotes have that wire coming out of them, I have had one of those to break off, its from vibration, the wire haging out there and nothing to support it. On any of these if you will get you some retract airline tubing and cut it, slide it over the wire and onto the nipple that is on the case, it will support the wire and help keep it from breaking off

Lp i think in the end the problem should be anything is important to focus in different things you said about tx so let get a great pack like 2000mah from www.hangtimes.com really good pack. Im using the 2000 mah for my 10cg in ilove to enough volt after a complete day of flying.
Im using 2600 fromeco li ion on my ignition with smart fly regulator and 5600mah ans sahara regulator for my rx in plenity of power to fly more than 4 days without a charge.

Exactly like I said thank you f5air, what I was trying to point out with this crash is that somewhere something obviously failed and I was considering the rx batteries because of the history of li-ions in cold weather in the sunny days that were 20 degrees out I got 12 12min flights on the plane and only used 1400mah per pack, but all of a sudden after the crash my batteries lost more than expected. Is that Fromeco fault of course not it's the nature of the cells and cold weather 4 degree weather and being exposed to that for 4 hours has a toll on batteries, anyways enough rambling I finally got the chance to start charging the receiver batts and I will see how many ma they take.

It was not the batteries because each of them took 400mah which is about right for 4 heavy flights, 4x400=12000mah a pack/12flights sounds about right with what I was getting before.

well at least you are done with the pack for the airplane power supply. I only think on the Tx.... or something like a switch. Rolling harriers can make a lot of thinks to the connections due the force involved. I use locks in every connection in my airplane just in case. My fromeco batteries survive a 4 floor drop, i was flying at that altitude and my extra just came apart totally, my DLE was falling like a rocket with my batteries cause i was installed on the firewall. After that jody inspected the engine and was perfect, the fromeco packs and did some cycle charge and was perfect. The crash was my fault cause my engine mounts and stand off was really loose so it was a huge amount of vibration and the firewall just separate of the airplane. Learned that day what should i check everyflight and bought again the same airplane....3 months later im still have fun with my extra.

Hope you can find out what happen....so that will be something to lear for us and for you too.

Good luck.

Default Fromeco 2600mah battery HELP

When you put the second battery in you can buy a battery isoulator at the marine store and put that between the two batteries. Doing this will let you run your radio off one battery the secend and run it dead without draining the first down. It will still charge when the engine is running. Be sure to hook the radio to the secend battery, not the first. Some people call this the house battery. They run things off it, and never kill the starting battery. Good Luck
