I have been following the threads on the new Hitec A9 and I must say I'm impressed so far. At this point, I believe it will be my next radio.
As we all know, the functionality of our radios is increasing in leaps and bounds. Have you ever found out many months or more later that your radio can do this or that..... and wish you had only known. Think of the difference that could have made! For the above reasons and more, I would like to suggest the following ; - Add a DVD to supplement the owner's manual, not a quick overview but,a detailed step by step process - Give it (DVD) some close up detail on how to activate/manage the primary functions ie; mixes, inflight trimming, and some of the more advanced functions. I don't suggest it should cover all the functions and capabilities but, it would provide a solid foundation to continue in maximizing the full potential of the system. - reducing the learning curve will make this radio even more of a first choice for modelers and gets you into it's full potential sooner. - Of course this would add to the cost but it wouldn't be significant enough to impact Hitec's competitiveness, a few dollars maybe? - the manual would always remain as the basic reference and guide however, the DVD could be a supplement and provide a visual aid that could clarify a misinterpretation of the manual. Just my two cents.... - |

Thanks for the suggest. We do plan to make additional videos on specific programming functions/features in the near future.
However, the learning curve for the Aurora 9 is the shallowest of any system I've ever seen. In most cases you can set up even the most sophisticated models without referencing the manual. Mike. |

Mike, do you know what the maximum operating temperature for the Rx will be, I live in Florida and must have a system that will work in the summer heat here without all the crap that is required for the FASST system. I am ready for the Aurora but any possible heat issue is holding me back. I have done the non-existent heat issue with FASST and did switch to Spectrum. I do not want to start anything but I do want a straight answer on the heat tolerance of the Hitec 9ch Rx that will come with the Aurora Tx. It is not uncommon to have cockpit temps as high as 160F. JR/Spectrum do not have ambient heat issues.

![]() After a little more research I discovered that the I.C's we're using are rated up to 85C (185F) Mike. Last edited by Mike Mayberry; 11-10-2009 at 12:38 PM. |

Thanks Mike for the straight answer. When will the Aurora 9 with the 9ch Rx be in dealers inventory?

So, when you say "Yes" to transmit, the model memory is staring you in the face. Mike. |

Rob
I know Chief has them for 429.00 shipped and TBM has them for 399+shipping. What kind of deal is Rob giving? I see Hitec is giving a second reciever and 1/2 off the third, I'm almost ready to ditch the Futaba myself. Rich
