Default Servo choice in Extra 260

I have the Hanger 9 35% Extra 260. This is my first airplane bigger than quarter scale. I was wondering if I could get away with using ONE JR8711 on each wing half. Is there a structural reason why they run two, or is it fine to run one, and it will be doing 3D.

hotdoger, the 8711 has plenty of power for one aileron,, were you will run into problems will be aileron flex,,, if it were me I would run two 5955 hitecs per aileron or equilavent,, and 1 per elevator half,, they will be a plenty on a 35%er,,

+1 but i think you meant 7955's the 59's are no longer availible. one 8711 is plenty for the rudder though. or you could go with the new 7950's on rudder.

Hotdoger, Something you may find of interest on the H9 260. This is obviouly a popular plane with many in the feild here in our area. I have owned three of them. I had JR 8611s on the ailerons (two per aileron) and experienced two failures of the outboard servo. Also two other 260s in our area experienced the same failure, same servo. I can tell you these were not failures due to their having been incorrectly set with the inboard servo. I have a proven meathod of setting multible servo's on the same control surfce and I feel confident, at least in my case, that they were properly set.
I then removed the outboard servo altogether and replaced the inboard servo with an 8711. This worked good for me flying the IMAC Basic sequence which does not require snap rolls or any other extreme manuvers. For 3D work, I would proceed with caution.

You need to run two servos per wing half. Running one servo in the inboard servo hole will cause the aileron to flex which in turn could damage the servo.

Does any one have any experience with the HD-1501MG from Troy Built Models. I work at the local hobby shop so i dont have a bunch of cash to pour in an airplane and these look awesome.

Hotdog, you get what you pay for. Save what you can and buy the good stuff when you have enough. Don't just get what you can afford right now. You will thank me later. Those HD servos don't have a clue where center is.
