Default Futaba 12FG Transmitter Batteries

The new Futaba transmitters such as the 12FG use a 6 cell NiMH battery which is only a 7.2 volt pack. They (Futaba) say that you can only use their charger that comes with the radio which is a wall wart type.

What are some of the other guys using other than the wall wart?

Another question. NiMH's should be cycled occasionally to build and keep the pack up to its max potential. What Kind if cycler or discharger are you guys using ?

I have a Fromeco 2 cell Relion in mine. Required a VERY slight amount of filing away of a plastic spline in the Tx battery compartment. Snug, but fits great!

Lipo is the way to go. 10 hours+ flying time. I usually recharge before it even needs it.

I saw those. They are a great alternative.
