xtraflyr,
Thanks for the tip. Maybe you can help me some more. I have not been able to get any info on where the fuselage lights are located, if any. Do you know and can you send me a drawing or a photo.

The plastic cowl and cockpit canopy are in the mail but have not arrived here yet, so I am slow rolling it. I installed the vertical stab today. Maybe I will work on the cannons next.

The plastic set arrived here on Monaday, but I have been busy cutting kits. We were getting low on stock.

With the plastics in hand I was able to resume the build. I installed the wheel well liners and this readies the wing for the finishing stage. May look a little rough for now, but this will be cleaned up in the putty/spackle stage to come. In this form of construction, things lokk kinda rough during teh build, but after the finish, it will look very different. We need to be patient.

Next I worked on the cowl and the firewall. The cowl is made from clear plastic to allow either nitro or electric power. The firewall is intentionally position with and offset to allow for sanding of the curve on the upper side of the nose.

Worked on the cowl end today. Once the firewall and oil cooler is painted it should look nice.

Boy, a transparent cowl and spinner makes life so easy. No more feeling around for stuff.

Here are some pictures.

Thank you Dewet. I could not find the schematic you mentioned. Can you paste it here please or send me a specific link? I see the nav and landing lights lights on the wings and a white light inside the canopy towards the rear end, in one of the pictures there.

I finished the last final bit of construction today. The firewall was attached and the nose curve sanded.

I believe that we are finished with the construction phase and can now move on to the finishing stage.

I will put away all the construction tools, vacuum the whole workshop and work table and start the finish work next.

I started the finishing phase.

This consists of 3 main steps - the surface prep, the liquid sheet, and the final paint. This finish phase is not a lot of work but a lot of wait. Waiting for this to cure or that to dry, etc, etc.

It took about an hour to apply the spackle and putty, but now I have to wait till tomorrow before I can rub it down.

The purpose of this step is to fill joints, dents acquired during construction, build fillets where needed and to smooth the surface.
