Default can you fly 3D at your club

Just wandering how many clubs out there let members fly 3D over the runway in front of the flight stations

I fly some 3D at our club field, but mostly fly IMAC. When I do bring it down to torque roll or something, I usually walk out about 100' from the pits to do so. Most of the guys are older, and are pretty nervous about 3D. ;-)

That's actually a pretty accurate description of what happened at a fly-in at Waterboymikw1's club last year. Every club has one of 'em

The fly in circles gang at our club used to give us 3D'ers a hard time. We shanked a couple of them with a screwdriver... now they leave us alone...

I can 3D on the runway but not right in front of pilot flying stations. They encourage me to to keep it out at the center line of the cut grass (about 100 feet away). After taking this advice I have yet to get a complaint. When the right people are around, or nobody, I can do as I please. When the field is crowded it's the center line of cut grass or further. I'm pretty happy with my club though. They have let me fly like a nut without any hassle but trust must be gained.

This pic is about the distance they prefer. Low as you want as long as you stay out far enough.

At the clubs that I fly at if your the only one up than you can walk right out and touch it if you want.If others are up they either stay clear or drop it down and hover with you.
But I have been to clubs where they do want you on the far edge of the runway which in my opinion sucks.

Our club was formed around 3D flying. Some heli pilots and 3d plane pilots were tired of getting bitched at for flying low so we left and started our own. Flying has been more more relaxing since then.

3d is no problem at our club. We just apply a little common sense and common courtesy when other pilots are flying.
