I would like to know what the best prop is for a DA-150 on a 42% Super Decathlon. I am currently running a XOAR 32 x 10. It works fine but is there a better one?

I just recently tried the laminated Xoar 30X12 on a DA 150 and really like it. 37.5% Pilot-RC Yak.

I've run a 32X10 Mejlick,32X10 Menz S and a Bolly wood 32X10 and like them all. They all pull really good but if noise is a issue go with the Mejlick. The Bolly is the loudest out of all three and I do mean loud.As far as spool up,the wood props give faster throttle response than the carbon fiber props.
I hope this helps you out.

Guys thanks for the advice. I rounded up 2 more props to try next time I go to the field. They are 30 x 12 MenzS and a 32 x 10 Mejzlik. I'm looking for a little more speed and quietness. The Mejzlik 30 x 12 might be just the answer. I'll let you know how these other 2 props perform.
Nickb the kit came from AMR-RC.com in Canada. Sometimes they run a good sale. http://www.amr-rc.com/index.php?path...cathlon42_info Ken |

I went flying today and did some prop testing on the DA 150. The first was a Menz 30-12. The performance (speed and vertical climb) on this plane not as good as the Xoar 32-10. However, it was very quiet.
The next prop was a Mejzlik 32-10. It's performance was as good as the Xoar and maybe a little better. It was also very quiet. The first 23 flights on this plane have been with the Xoar 32-10. All of these flights have had a sound that was very, for lack of a better term, rattley. Almost as if the engine was producing the sound. I sure felt relieved to realize that it was all the prop. This prop also rips on a shallow dive at full power. The other two props don't make this noise. We have come up with one more prop to try, a Menz 32-10. So far the Mejzlik is the clear winner, the Xoar second and the Menz last. I'll let you know how the Menz 32-10 performs when we fly it. Ken |

Mejlik 30x12.....Great vertical, good downline braking and spoils up fairly quickly to make for a good freestyle prop as well.

Neil and Shawn I have to agree with your use of a Mejzlik 30-10 on a 3D type plane. However, on a big scale Super Decathlon with over 4000 sqin of wing area weighing 75#, there is enough drag on the down line that the prop doesn't play much of a factor.

I use the PT 32x10 props from TBM. I have 5 DA-150's and its the only prop i will use. I prefer it to the Meijlik 32x10 and its also cheaper than the Meijlik.
