I have read alot of threads on turning 50cc planes to E-Power on this site and all seem to use the hacker motors. Is AXI just not a good choice? or is the Hacker just the best proven method out there.I ask because I run E-Power in my pattern plane AXI 5330-18 with a jeti 77 opto w/heat sink,19x12 APC prop and i have had really good luck with it. any help would be greatly appreciated.
Jeff

Jeff, I wish I knew more about high power electric setups so I could help out (The Axi 4120 is the largest electric motor I have right now). However, if/when you decide to start this project, I'd love to see your progress and setup!

i think it comes down to personal preference and what your buddies are flying... I fly hacker, and so do just about all the guys i fly with... they also have great customer service and have been proven many times over to be one of the most effiecient decent priced motors on the market, they also make plenty of power. i have tried AXI and just wasn't as happy with them as the hackers. the hackers ran cooler and pulled less amps which allowed me to fly longer and put less strain on my setup. although there is nothing wrong with the AXI's, its kinda like a Ford vs. Chevy deal. its just what works for you and whay you want to run.

I set this plane up and have been flying it with a 50cc gas engine. The PAU Extra 300SP flys very well and very locked in, on its maiden flight I had 1 click of right AIL and 2 clicks of down ELV my JR is set to 2 on the trims. But it is on its way to be E-powered just because I cannot get the thought of an electric 50cc plane out of my head. This is the setup I will use Hacker A60-18L,Castle HV-110,24x12 APC prop and 2 6s 5000mAh zippy lipos. I have built this plane and 1 other for a friend of mine and both planes came in at 15lbs so it should be interesting. I will post the progress with some photos when the mail arrives.
