Default Smoke oil in my engine . . .

OK, I know this may sound stupid and, not being mechanically inclined, it probably is. Some time ago, I had an Evolution 45 gasser and managed to pretty much flood the thing with smoke oil. I could never get it started again. I then did exactly the same thing with a CRRC 50 (I know, I know) with the same result - never got it started again. I then bought a DA 50 and, determined to ruin that one too, alas, did exactly the same thing. Hard to believe, I know.

I called the guys at DA in an absolute panic; however, they said they had never heard of smoke oil ruining an engine and sure enough, after wiping it out, the DA ran flawlessly and has ever since. I have no idea why the first two died but the DA had no troubles. I'd love to get those other two engines rolling again, so if there's something I'm missing I'd love to know. Maybe the other two aren't ruined after all. Any thoughts out there?

Yes, take all your smoke tanks, smoke cans and smoke pumps and put them in the trash.

And now for a more positive answer
You probably just gunked up the little screen in the carb. I would take it out and flush it. It is under the cover with the single screw. You'll see the screen in the hole its meant to be in. Pull it out with a sharp exacto knife and then clean it with either some alcohol or clean gas (not 2 stroke mix). I would also soak the rest of the carb in the clean gas (not alcohol). That thick smoke fluid is probably plugging up one of the jets and thats why you cant start the engine. I might replace the plugs also or at least clean em out real good. Smoke oil is not much different than diesel so it really shouldnt do any harm to the rest of the motor.
And perhaps you should mark your fill ports........I have mine marked and on opposite sides of the AC so it makes it harder to make that mistake.

I second castlebravo's reply. Take everything apart and flush it with alcohol or carb cleaner. Put a new kit in the carb and they should be as good as new. Oh, and throw away your smoke oil!!! LMAO

Hey guys, thanks for the responses. I'll definitely give that a try. Oh, & btw, the oil got in my engine by the pump filling up the exhaust and the oil getting sucked into the manifold. It wasn't cuz I put the oil in the wrong fill line! Gee, that would be just dumb.

However, maybe I should just throw the smoke oil away. But what would be the point in flying then?
