Hi all,
i am getting my 100 cc yak hopefully this week. i got some experience with 100cc my previous model as by no means a kiss setup, powerbox 2 receivers, redudndancy all over the place. this time round i really want to keep it simple, this is the setup: futaba 608 receiver 5 hitec 57950 high voltage 2 2200 mah lipos my question to you is, what is a safe and simple way to feed power to the servos and receiver, and preferably keep the cost as low as possible. Unfortunatly with HV servos cant just use 2 receivers. plsd to hear any suggestions Alex |

eh not to many replies.
I am looking at the power expander pro which i can use the high voltage servos. but then i have to run a reg out of one of the channels to guide the throttle servo which wont take the high voltage and i can plug them into the receiver due to the low amps the internal reg provides. what i was also thinking to keep things realy simple. since we have all those super filters in the modern expanders couldnt i just power the ingition through one the numerous free port the expander has by just pluging in a reg and using batteries of slightly higher capacity to power the whole system? would this be safe in terms of RF noise, i am running fasst btw. |

Then don't use 'em. K.I.S.S. remember ?I am trying my best to get a DLE111 powered plane going and $$$ is the issue and I cannot think of a BETTER reason for the K.I.S.S. method. It will have no regs. no expanders and no Lipos.

What would you guys say about this:
solder all the power wires to 2 deans plugs and plug them directly to the batteries. Run the white leads to the receiver for guidance. used the balancing lead of the batteries to power the 608 fasst receiver through 2 regs. when there is not signal the servos switch off anyway so i can just run 2 switches between the batteries and the regs, which can even be flimsy ones. so what do you guys think about such a setup ? btw has the low voltage issue been rectified in the 7955 servos ? free rider-- i would just plug all servo's into the receiver then have multiple power inputs. im sure the futaba buss can handle the amps.

I have faith that it can handle the amps but then i have to regulate the voltage. but i want to take advantage of the highvoltage servos |

You could try one of these:
http://www.servocity.com/html/servo_power_boards.html Plus ditch the Lipos.....Go to A123's and run Unregulated. Gets rid of a possible weak link (Reg) and expense.... Personally, My 50cc setup is running a Fasst Rx with (5) 7955's and an analog servo on throttle. I run multiple power feeds (A123) to the Rx. Not the first problem.....Something to consider.....

well i got the servos installed in the model and learnt that they do not power off when you turn the receiver off... Darn failsafe keeps them powered up. but anyways i am still feeding power directly from 2 lipos to the 7950th servos.
i want to be able to feed as much power to the servo so i have mutiplex connectors on the servo end and on the other side i want to solder all the + and - leads to a deans connector which will be pluged into the battery. by question is this, in your opinion how reliable is it to solder 7 back and 7 red extension wire to 2 of the deans plug poles. i have no doubt about soldering a single thick wire, but when its a whole lot of skinny extension wires i am having second thoughts. what do you guys think, is a 7 extension wound into 1 think wire the same as just one thick wire? Regards Alex |
