If you live in the Northern part of the US, you are in the heart of Fall. The leaves have changed and dropped off the trees, the temperature is quickly falling and a nice, warm flying day is as rare as a three toed sloth.
(Notice: If you live in an area where it is still warm, then stop reading this and go out and fly, we are all jealous of you! If you live in a colder region, please continue.) So what do we do up here in the Northern US when it's too cold and windy to go out and fly and the golf dome isn't open to bash foam? Some of us watch TV, some play video games but the real hard core guys BUILD! That's right. In an era of ARF's, there are still an elite few who choose to take on the momentous task of assembling a plane from a box of sticks, balsa and foam. The labor can at times be over whelming, the dust can cause a fight with the spouse, but if you take your time, and plan ahead, the reward of building can be the best airplane you will ever own. Here on Flyinggiants.com we are occasionally treated to build threads by some of the best master builders in RC. BBW (Built By Walt) AJ Lee, Bob "Sensi" Sawyer. These amazing craftsmen all have posted threads that are wealths of information, and are addicting to read to say the least. So if you have ever thought about building a kit, DO IT! Thanks to FG you have access to the brains of the masters. Read through the many build threads here on FG, pick up some of the amazing tips, and if you have a question ASK! You are never alone building when you have FG close by! So, that being said.. who's building what? Lets here it!! To check out the slew of build threads here on FG click here: BUILD THREADS!

Well I'm not exactly building but more putting back together! LOL I have a WH Edge 540T V2 that needs a new gear plate and will get a new RCGF 50cc engine with a canister. Also have to strip the lead out of my Aviation Models Extra 260, redo the firewall and mount a new RCGF 62cc with canister. That's going to take all of the spare time I have right now. BTW Sleepy, it's fall here in the northwest also! Freezing rain and high winds here today.

Props to all who build a plane from a box of sticks. Nothing like telling someone at the field you yourself built the plane they drooling over. Not much on for this year. Built a Lanier 33% Laser 200 last winter. Got major reconstruction to a Walt Moacha PJ 295 to do. Gonna help a guy in our club with a 33% Cap 232 he has. Finish a 33% Arf Extra that I aquired in a trade. Well guess I got more to do than I thought.
