I hang my 46% ulti. What plane and how are you tring to hang it? You can hang it by the wing tube. I don't I just use the cabain strut. I also hang a 35% extra with straps around the fuse at the landing gear and rear.

I have done the same thing and had no problems. I did put them in the basement last winter when we were going to be below Zero for several days. I read on here that lithium-ions were good until it got really cold. I forgot what the actual temp is.

When they talk about lost capacity its temporary when the batts regain normal temps the y are the same as before the cold days of flying. Be aware the lost capacity is actually lost amp discharge ability not actual capacity. Example a 2 amp load on a freshly charged 2s2p li-on will yield a .5-1 volt drop in the spring but in 32° the same load may drop the volts to a 1-2 volt drop. SO if your battery system just covers your amp draw needs dont fly them in the cold. if you draw on the batts is in the 200 mah draw range you will get the whole battery even in the low temps.

I have stored/left my li-on in the plane in the cold all winter for 2 seasons in Kentucky and they are just fine. Dont get to antzy about bringing them inside unless your gonna get some extremely low temps for a long period of time.

So are you saying that we shouldnt listen and heed the instruction from the manufacturure about the cold temps and how it affects thier battery's??? I have found that they drop more under a load after exposure to extreme cold temps than they did before exposure, and they dont get better or back to what they were. I consider 32 degrees or or lower and or freezing temps as extreme, i think thats what were talking abut here.

See post #37 in old thread... Giant storage...where do your planes sleep.
I don't know how to bring my picture and reply from '07 to this thread. Terrific way to store 2 40% fuses without taking away and usable garage space

I don't have much space in my garage so I resorted to a rack and to building elevated shelves for the bigger planes. I also hang foamies by a rope around propeller or fuselage tied to a nail in the wall.
