Hi Guys,
I'd like to know your help for my next 150cc class plane. I have checked a lot of models and actually I am intersted at YAK 54 QB AERO-WORKS. I am really intersted in the model but I am a little confused about it because all the kit is very nice and very easy to make it but the WEIGHT is very heavy!!! 40lbs around 18-19kg. ![]() Actually I am looking for a very good 3D model and IMAC too. PLS. HELP ME!!!! I need to buy my new big bird

I have one and the plane flies on rails. Great IMAC plane and I have seen a few people throw them around pretty good with a 170 on them.

So if I have understood well is very good for IMAC but for 3d is better to choose DA170 right?

The plane is large, 40lbs is not heavy. The 170 is a better engine for the plane then the 150.

Thanks a lot for your suggestion!!!
I am comparing with the PILOT-RC Yak 54 150cc. Maybe PILOT-RC is the best choice for 3D flight is more lighter then 2kg. AW maybe good for IMAC. The size is the same!!

I have an ARC version of the Aeroworks 150cc Yak 54 and I can tell you, it is built very well. Aeroworks planes are typically a little heavier than a number of other planes out there, but that is for good reason, they stand the test of time. Having seen this plane without covering on it, there are areas where someone could lighten the plane and not compromise the structural integrity, which is what I plan to do, but I like the idea of starting off with a very sturdy airframe to begin with. I have had other planes built by other manufacturers and one rough landling and they fall apart like a house of cards. You cant go wrong with Aeroworks!

aeroworks will come in alittle heavier than some other ones but as said above they will outlast the lightly built ones. you put some good power on the nose and you won't be disappointed. years of flying fun. well aslong as you don't nose plant it in the ground.lol

Looks like it's a great plane, I've seen videos of Brandon Chitty fly it- superb 3D and precision, but gosh, the scheme is awful IMO.. If they would come out with better or atleast different scheme, I'd grab one.

I don't like both of them to be honest.. Well, let's not bash things, according to videos and people flying them in competitions It is an awesome machine to fly, I just would like to see it colored differently.

40 pounds is light for that plane. Stock, they are 42 pounds+. But they still fly light at that weight and a DA170 on pipes will flat out yank it.
