I've flown more than a couple comp-arf's in the past with just minimal success doing 3d. The 2.6m 260 with a zdz80 being the best of all I've flown. But now i'm thinkin maybe I should try a wood plane.
Which plane? AJ slick $679 plus shipping. OUT OF STOCK http://www.3dhobbyshop.com/detail.aspx?ID=2432 Extreme flight $649 plus shipping OUT OF STOCK http://www.extremeflightrc.com/html/88yak54.html Sig 35% for the same money. $639 plus $100 shipping IN STOCK http://www.sigmfg.com/cgi-bin/dpsmar...ARF.html?E+Sig Anyone know when the out of stock planes will be in stock? Kind of wanted to order something sooner than later.

check out sleepy's 3dhobbyshop extra 330s 100cc. it's a great deal. http://www.flyinggiants.com/swapshop...ct=15267&cat=2
it's about the same price as a 50cc new build.

Depends on what you have laying around for a motor and servos.. Is this going to be a buy all new or will you be using stuff you already have? The plane itself usually ends up being the cheapest part of the whole deal... the89" planes are more 50cc sized and the 100" is in the 100cc class? Seems like an odd comparion. Personally right now I would buy an QQ101 yak from Chief at 600 bucks and either a good 80 sized motor on a tuned pipe(if I already owned it) or if I was buying a motor for it a BME 100/105/115 twin on it..

Thanks for the input. The cool thing is is that I'm only an hour from Cleveland. Sucks but I already have most of the components for a 35%. Don't really need a full setup.
I forgot to add this plane. http://ak-models.com/mm5/merchant.mv...ode=GIANTSCALE I have all the electronics, spinner, props, swb stuff, etc.....that will do either a 50cc or a 100cc

Pilot R/C are a good choice in the 85cc to 100cc class. They are very well price, and the fly very good. Wild Hare also do nice 85cc to 100cc class airplane and also very nicely priced. TOC is another option for 100cc Airplanes and Aeroworks too.
Or if you like to build, Dalton 35% Extra 260. The best compromise, between 3D and Presition. There are a lot of options in the market for that size of aiplane, that you're looking for. Just choose the one you can afford or like. Trim them and equip them right and it should fly great. Regards, Hector

I know there are alot of good choices. but....... $499 for a 35% is hard to beat. Just wonder how it flyes. Plus when you crash a 35% it definately starts to add up compaired to 50cc planes. I'm just trying to reduce the pucker factor so i can get even more comfy with flying 3d on the deck.

If you have the stuff already, I would narrow down the list to three or four good airframes and buy the one you get the best deal on. I would agree with Hector- the Pilot planes are a good value considering all of the carbon they come with- as well as the overall quality.. Good luck!

I was just checking out Wild hare rc website and I was suprised at how great their prices are. Weght and wing area seem to be the exact same as the extreme flgiht with a lower price. interesting. Thanks Al

If you have all the stuff for a 100cc get a 100cc plane. I believe the price has dropped on the H9 35% 260 and it's overall flight performance is simply hard to beat, period. Quality is OK, but you forget about all those little things that make it 'only OK quality' once you fly it, and does it really matter from 20 feet away?
If you are willing to spend a little more for a quality airframe that will 3D like nobody's business, then the Aeroworks 100cc 260 is a winner. It is also a great choice if you happen to have an 85 for your "100cc" equipment, because it doesn't need a big motor up front to balance and could be built to the 25 pound range with an 85. Honestly, any familiar brand plane will do whatever you want if your fingers are up to it, so choose a plane that you like the looks of and isn't too heavy and you will be fine.

Yeah, I was kinda thinkin that too. but not all planes are equal for sure. I always felt that my comp-arf's seemed a bit heavy for my liking. Not very floaty. with the exception of the 2.6m extra 260 with a zdz 80 on it. it was pretty darn good. That's why I'm going wood this time. I've never really flown wood built planes. problem I have is......which plane and the components that come with it is better. For example.....extreme flight 88" plane for $650ish or QQYak for 35% for $600 ish. I know the extreme flight crowd is loyal that must be for a reason, great kit, great flyer, great customer service, etc....... but it's a 50cc plane. QQ Yak used to be a hot seller just two seasons ago and now....well...not so much, but it's a proven 3d airframe, 35% so it flies bigger, cheaper than extreme flight and you get a 100cc plane, but I don't know whats all included, customer service from cheif is????? I don't know, replacement parts are slimming down, not that that matters much to me.
I mean I moving from some really great planes at comp-arf to try to get a really great flying plane to help me with on the deck 3D. I want a proven aircraft at a great price. and that looks like the aj slick, extreme flight, or maybe QQ100cc to keep it in my price range.
