Default OS FT-300 Super Gemini problem

Guys, I got a used OS 300 Gemini the other day, but I've run into a little problem with it. The engine had bad bearings when I got it, but for the price, I can deal with that. After getting it apart, I found the rear bearing holder was spinning inside the case. It was still doing that after changing the bearings. Seems simple right? Just order a new bearing holder. One problem: It's apparently discontinued.

Anybody familiar with one of these engines? Given how the holder is designed, this has to be a relatively common problem. Thanks!

Not too sure why they would discontinue parts for a current run engine.....

I guess you could peen it into place if theres not too much clearance involved.

Or, go over to the rcuforums and ask Bill Baxter. ( in the O.S. engine factory support section.) He's the Manager for Hobby services.

The bearing holder looks simple enough, it might be worth it to have one machined? There is a special loctite product(green) for bearing and sleeves.

Thanks for the info guys!

I thought about having one machined, but I figured I'd try the red loctite first. I did that the other day, and I'll probably run it tomorrow and see how it does. I didn't know about the green loctite though. I'll try that if the red doesn't work for some reason!

I'm baffled too why they'd discontinue parts for a current engine. It makes me wonder if they're getting ready to discontinue it.... They have been producing them for a long time. This particular engine's serial number is 0687.

I wonder if you could get the parts from Japan.
