Default JR matchbox question......

I want to use a JR match box on the elevator servos on a 40%er and i was wondering if i could use extentions? The extentions that i will use will be very L o n g.

Are you talking about using the extensions between the Rx and matchbox, or the matchbox and the servos? I'm assuming you're talking about between the matchbox and servos. I don't see a problem with it so long as your extensions aren't some small guage. I would also look into using the heaviest possible guage extension between the Rx and the matchbox, just to be sure. Otherwise you'll be creating a bottleneck.

I'll have it in this order... servos to extentions to match box to reciver. I want the match box to be in between the reciver, and extentions, because the servos are on the elevator halves and the extention is connected to the servos when the stabs are on the fuse.

Tony,

What radio are you using?
Most computer radio's these days have a dual elevator program that allows you to set the elev halves up without a matching device.

I am using extentions from my matchbox to my elevator servo's, they aren't very long though (on an Ultimate). I have not seen any problems with it so far. It probably wouldn't hurt to put chokes on the extensions if they are long ones...

The best position for a Matchbox, Equalizer etc. is to mount them as close to the receiver as possible and run servo extensions to them. This, in essance, allows the voltage to run through the one wire pigtail for a very short distance from the matchbox to the RX reducing the voltage loss you would get running one wire from the surface area to the RX.

Keep in mind the Matchbox only adjusts Center and End Points.
Its not going to help you if the two elev halves are travelling differently.

Your 9303 will accomplish everything a Matchbox could in this situation.
If they arent moving together equally, its a mechanical or a geometry problem.

Are the servos outrunning each other, or just not moving anywhere near the same? They should be close to one another, even without a matchbox.

on the 9303 you can slow the fast servo down to match the speed of the slow one. make sure you have the linkage set up rigght first.
