C'mon now. Don't be too harsh about it. I do agree that Jason should have not won. To me, personally, they lacked his normal balls out flying!!!! Who should have won was either Gerber, QQ or Gernot. Those 3 had AWESOME free's!!! Gernot pushing the envelope each time he flew!!! Remarkable!!!
Just my opinion. Chris~

I really hope this kind of talk doesnt continue. You may have liked someone else's routines better but unless you were sitting in a judging chair you cant take anything away from the winner. Covering the criteria and what the crowd likes may be two different things. Congrats to Jason!

Merlin, why does everything have to be a brand war, or a conspiracy??? Jason does fly REALLY well!!! Contest is over, and cannot change anything!! If ya don't like it, tuff stuff!!! Why not submit yourself to be a judge for next years event??? You know, of course, you have to be a qualified judge. You are qualified, aren't you??? Quit your complaining about it, and just move on!!! I stated my opinion on that, and didn't belittle the judging and say that everything is a conspiracy. I did agree with you(that Jason shouldn't have won), but now you have gone too far with this.
Congrats to Jason. I was not there to congratulte him in person. I personally felt that his free's lacked his normal balls out flying I'm accoustomed to see him fly. I'm not crying over that. I'm not crying at all!!! As far as being "family" involved?? Frank does all the promotions and Wendell actually CD's the event. No other "family" is there unless you are referring to Team Futaba?? Judges are judges, no matter what shirt they have on. They are people like you and I. Judging is fair, and they call it how they see it. I stated my opinion. I'm done!!! Chris~

Guys, I have not sat in a judges chair, and I would not want to. To have to evaluate each maneuver for technical skill, the flow of the performance, the coordination of the flight to the music and crowd response. Then the fact that not everyone will agree with your judging. Some people will just be upset just because their favorite didn't win.
I will say that I enjoyed the overall performance of some pilots better than others. However some of the flights were better from a technical aspect, but, didn't have the WOW factor that some of the other did. Remember, Just because you like the performance of one pilot better than the other, doesn't mean that the performance was better from a technical aspect. Guys I cannot always say that the pilot that I would have chosen for the winner of an event, was the one chosen by the judges. But I have not had the experience to judge the technical aspect of any maneuver. Congrats to the winners, and thanks to all the pilots for putting on one hell of a show.

If you judging according to the rules is shouldnt matter who's flying. Judge the plane. Period. Not the person who is flying the plane. I also judge at every IMAC I go to but that in no way makes me a qualified judge to judge at an event like this. The judges that were sitting in those chairs were hand chosen for their knowledge and ability. They picked the winner. Not the crowd.
