It really isnt that hard. If a someone flies a zero they will get that from me. If they fly a ten they will get that also. You have to be willing to put the correct number down no matter who's name is on the score sheet.
I have no expectations when sitting in the chair.

I hate to do this, but I have to question the name of this event. Extreme Flight Championship without so much as one 0 of 8, either inverted, cross box, or on a 45. I thought my invite may have gotten lost in the mail, but alas, a one manuever event could also be somewhat limited.

Hell, I just about wet myself last week with my first harrier landing, and a torque roll on the deck. I'll get there, but I can hardly walk straight to music, and now I am gonna have to fly to it. I'll probably confused, fall over, and crash. I've done it before.

What was the topic?

Hats off to all the XFC staff. They again had a great event. (somebody get Bill some water !! ) I was only there on Friday but had a great time. Hate to have to read so many negative posts though.. My dad taught me this was a HOBBY and to always have fun. Reading some of this was not FUN.. Like Biff said ...Its just a hobby

Wowing the crowd should be a small percentage out of a score. After all, freestyle is why the crowd IS there for.
It is part of the score. Its just not as heavily weighted as other criteria.
The crowd will go wild with low 3D and low sloppy 3D. There has to be more of an emphasis on who is doing the maneuvers better if your going to award a true champion.

I was at an IMAC event this weekend. My buddy was winning in Advanced going into the last round. The guy in second was very close behind him.
I was judging this round.
My buddy zero'ed one maneuver in each sequence and wound up coming in second.

You have to not be biased when sitting in the chair no matter who is flying. Whether it is your best friend or one of the big names in the hobby. If you cant do that, please dont judge.

Thanks folks for clearing up what the XFC is about. I too thought that it was a hardcore huckin/IMAC hybrid type of contest, but I guess I was wrong. As far as Jason Noll goes, he's one heck of a pilot, but I have noticed that he just isn't flying the "WOW!!" maneuvers that much and his flights are becoming boring to watch as a spectator, but that's not what the judges are looking for. As far as the event goes, I did not attend and I can't wait to see the vids, but from what has been written in this thread, all I can say is it's about time that 3D became more precise. I know a few IMAC dudes that detest 3D because it's so sloppy. I personally don't care to watch any 3D if it's all over the place. A torq roll isn't spectacular any more, but a perfect Torq roll is pretty sweet IMO. Ok, I'll say it, 3D sucks when the pilot has no comprehension of thinking about doing it well and not just doing it. I think that in the frees, the judges should consider the on the deck stuff to be scoring more than if it was performed a little higher as it takes guts to do it and it will really show how good that pilot feels he is when it's that low to the ground, but what can I say, I aunt-jemimah- ed my Kaos yesterday.

"Crowd appeal has gotten me close to winning the XFC in the past.
This year I focused strictly on the criteria. I guess it worked"
