Ok guys, it's finally that time of year!

The 2010 Flyinggiants/3DHobbyshop Huckfest season is upon us!!

First Stop: Hot Springs Arkansas!! JUNE 25th - 27th!!

Located smack dab in the center of the good ole US of A, Hot Springs will be host to the first ever MEGA HUCKFEST! And it will be off the HOOK!

SO.. Get your vacation time set, load up the trailer and lets get ready to HUCK!!!

Fellow FG Staff member and good buddy Josh "FighFighterFSFD" Price has been the point man on this event and he has done an outstanding job. And what he has cooked up is some serious good times!

The location:
The field is in Hot Springs Ar. ( http://www.hotspringsrc.com/ ) and the field is just 4 miles to the north of down town Hot Springs. This place is AWESOME!!! Hot Springs is a major tourist attraction for the state of Arkansas and has lots of things to do. But with the main attraction here being the Huckfest let’s talk about the event. First off is the field. The runway is around 650 feet total (350 black top and 150 of grass on each end) with the center section asphalted. The runway sites on a hill with a slope in front of you that allows you to do knife edge passes below the runway... Way cool…
Some of you remember this location as the place where the EAA club had a couple events. It’s the same place. Only difference is the club has new officers (all of which are excited about this and can’t wait to have it), the runway has been recovered and is nice and smooth asphalt, the park around it has been built up so it is even bigger, and the club has grown. I am sure not long after this post people will agree this place ROCKS!!! It is closer to Little Rock as well which is the closest major airport. Camping is completely welcome.


Directions to Flying Site: From Hot Springs, Hwy7/Central Ave., turn West onto Whittington Ave., (at water fountain) and then make an immediate right onto Cedar. This road will become Cedar Glade, then drive until you come to Wildcat Rd. Turn right and follow road until you see the Hot Springs R/C Flying Club sign.

Now.. on to the fun stuff...

At this Huckfest we will be introducing "Hover Bowling!!"
We will have bowling pins set up and if someone chooses to try to Rudder Bowl as some point through out the day, that person will get two minutes to knock the bowling pins over with their rudder! If they happen to knock over all ten pins in one minute , they will win one extra ticket towards the big raffle prize!!

Every single registered pilot will get one ticket for this prize. And more will be available for $5. You must be present to purchase tickets, and you must be present to win the prize!!

Thanks Steve... guy this event will be off the hook!!! The Hot Springs Gang has really stepped up and helped pull all this together.. As most of ya know we had to relocate to Hot Springs and now that we have got all the details with moving the event taken care of it is time to start pushing the event. As steve said this will be the first ever MEGA huckfest which has had me pulling my hair out trying to come up with all the ways to make this event live up to its name. SO...... the plan I came up with was having the event in the best possible location, give away prizes to the pilots that are almost to good to be true, promote carnage, and serve out great food.

On saturday BBQ will be served to every registered pilot. Extra tickes are available for 11 dollars a ticket and it is way worth it. The local Hot Springs gang will also be out with the grills going with burgers flipping and hot dogs rolling each day on a donations excepted basis. Also on saturday afternoon we will give away all the raffle prizes and the MEGA raffle prize. A few weeks ago I thought I want to give away the coolest thing ever to be handed out at a event, a giant scale plane. so I call Ben up at 3DHS and run my idea past him and he says, "well Josh lets do a 103. You think you can get the stuff together to get it done" and after about milisecond of thinking about it I agree and start planning how I can make this happen.. I call Charlie up at fox and runthe idea past him and he says "well come over here and pick up a 111 and FOX is more than happy to be apart of this." After a few more days of calling around Fromeco had jump onboard with a complete power set up, Hobbico jumped in and donated a Futaba 10 channel radio on behalf of FUTABA products, the Hitech gang said servos are on the way, SWB had sent out the servo arms for the project, and the dream plane was starting to come together.. So I call up Brian with Areo Graphics and tell him all about it and after a few good laughs, some planning for the event he says "hey Josh let me put a graphics package on it to really make that plane a really bad ass plane to own" so agian the plane project only became better.
Guys had it not been for these people this plane would have never happened and I can not thank them enough for their support. The event will be one you will not want to miss. The hitech guys will be on site, the Futaba guys, FOX, Aero graphics, 3D Hobby Shop, and several local hobby store guys will be their to join in on the Fun.
Again I look forward to seeing every one, cant wait to see the face of the person that wins the best 35% airplane money can buy, and settign the bar to what the 2010 huckfest series will need to follow this year.
