Well guys, the first ever Aussie Pro Bro fly-in was held today, even if there was only two of us waving the flag, I am sure we left our mark.
Myself, RH1NO and FunFlyaddict came out today to see what fun could be had. Jeremy (RH1NO) wasn't quite rudder bashin', being only the 5th (if that) flight on his new H9 260. Nice plane BTW. Owen, (Funfly) and I, well thats quite a different story. I was armed today with the PA Bad Boy V2 and the KatP. Owen armed with a KatP also. My KatP was tail tapped for the first time today also. The damage toll from the day is as follows ![]() Three 12.25x3.75 props broken (we need not get into who broke the most) A wing fairing busted off my Katana from an unscheduled arrival I busted rudder linkage that Funfly broke while trying to violate me (justice if you ask me) A fair amount of rudder damage to the of the Bad Boy All three planes came away with very spread gear legs Pics and video will be uploaded tomorrow. there was alot of DOD action, a fair bit caught on video (as the damage toll indicates )Thanks to Owen and his dad for driving 16 hours to come and make this happen. Lets hope the second ever Aussie Pro bro isn't too far away. Marcus

Yup thats Tingalpa alright. We picked a pretty good day to tear it up as none of the old warbird guys were out. Lucky for us
![]() The video is in the process of being compressed, resized and uploaded, I have a bit of half an hour of footage so it will take some time. It should be up by the end of the day though. Marcus

Compare this to the $165 cheap KatP. I put my CG back to 10mm forward of the canopy, which is well behind recommended and it harriers as easy as the GS planes in the sim. Owen, also with the KatP has his CG almost an inch forward of mine, and again, it is incredibly stable in HA flight. The Bad Boy is a good plane but compared the Kat it doesnt even come close IMO. if you are after a good profile and dont mind building go have a look at www.swanyshouse.com and take a look at the Mojo. They say its the best flying profile out there. It also has a removable wing mod available. As far as ARFs go, well Owen and I scored the last two KatP's in the country (possibly the world) as they are no longer being produced. OMP has the KatGS ARF, a newer KatP, but shipping is *huge* on them. That being said, the Bad Boy is still a good beater, but for the $ is it worth using that as a beater ![]() Marcus

Rusty, the Mojo is a pretty easy build. I bought two. I havnt started the second one yet, bt will have to soon or will end up without a profile to fly!

Ha ha I have crashed mine a couple of times, nothing bad though.
It torque rolls like a Mofo! Once the wind dies down I can keep it a couple of inches off the deck and torque it till I run outta juice. Does excellent harriers too! I had a great flight yesterday where I just walked it up and down the field, great fun but can only do it once everyone else has gone home! Oh and I have perfected the hovering launch but not the snatch landing yet! |
