Huckfest, final countdown

Huckfest - 3 days of all day, all night 3D flying. Everything from 40% gassers to foamies and Shank bones. The only "contest" will be with each pilot themselves. Every registered pilot will have a chance to win the prizes the sponsors have donated. Saturday night BBQ and fireworks. All proceeds will be going to the Adams County Children's Services. Saturday they will be bringing the kids out to enjoy the flying, the BBQ, and fire works. The kids will be getting a chance to spend some time with the pilots and getting an introduction to model aviation.

If you haven't decided if you are going to make the event, come on out and enjoy the weekend with members. Remember this is the first ever Flying Giants event. If you don't make it you will always wish you had.

My vacation started at 8am this morning. 48 hours from now I should be close to arriving in Peebles, OH for the Huckfest. Myself and Maeu2003 are going to be leaving my place Tuesday morning. I have a pile of camping gear ready in a pile in my living room. I have my tent, air mattress (older backs don't like the hard ground), table, 10 X 20 ft canopy for the planes, 10 X 10 ft canopy for the First Aid station, the first aid gear, a small propane grill, cooler, water cooler, all the assorted paper plates, spoons, forks, paper towel, cups, and the liquid refreshments.

I have the lights and extension cords for lighting an area for night flying foamies.

The planes are almost ready, just a few minor things to have them ready. Transmitters, Box with tools, spare props for the foamies, and assorted hardware just in case it is needed.

Tomorrow I pack my cloths, pack the truck, maybe even get another foamy ready to take.

I have the directions printed out. I also have directions to the park with shower facilities printed out. If anyone needs directions to the shower facilities look me up at the event and I will have a few extra copies of the directions how to get there.

When we get on grounds Tuesday, we will get set up and be ready to help Toby with anything needed to get ready for he event. We are looking forward to getting some good flying in early in the week.

This is going to be off the hook. Looking forward to meeting the friends I made at the Joe Nall and XFC again. Looking forward to making new friends. For those that I met at the XFC I didn't have the time I wanted to spend with the people I met due to the fact that I was trying to get photos taken, sorted, and uploaded for the people that couldn't be there.

I will be taking photos over the weekend and getting them posted when I get the chance. Max is planning on doing a live feed from the event and also having a live feed from the St. Louis EAC.

The after hours will be a blast relaxing and making friendships that will last a life time.

I hope to see you all there. I will be around the First Aid tent most of the weekend, stop by and say hello, even if you aren't bleeding.

2 things to remember as well..

1 - EVERY CENT GENERATED GOES TO A LOCAL CHARITY, SO WHILE ENJOYING A GREAT WEEKEND, YOUR DOING SOMETHING REALLY GOOD FOR A WHOLE PILE OF KIDS!!!

2 - We will change the defination of "BAD ASS" and you wouldn't want to miss that!

Ok guys over 80 pilots pre- regestered! SO this one is def gonna be off the hook!!

We have the event organized to accomidate around 300 pilots so COME ON DOWN!!!!

Great news on the pilots, this is gonna' rock for those kids!!!!

My Yak is ready, I'm hoping to have time to replace the gear plate in my Showtime so that will be with me, and maybe even a profile, don't know yet.

My son just left after showing me how to set up his tent that he loaned me for the trip.

This is going to be the event of the year!!!

Yup. Things are shaping up in my area as well!!! PA system is almost done. Please pardon the crudity of it!! New mixer come Monday, and it actually worked!!! WOOHOO!!!!!! Mic works now, thanks to the new mixer. Amp will be here in the afternoon. Most DEF. going to be cranking to TUNES out!!! Everything will be down there Thursday afternoon/nite. In time for some daylight set up. IE the EZ UPS, the PA system, some impound stuff. Put my bird together. But sorry guys, I'm keeping the Tx!!! HAHAHA!!!!! And mostly set up camp for 3 days!!!!
