I've seen videos of this plane with a ZDZ 210 and other 200cc engines but i really want to see a video of this plane with a DA 150 doing 3D. I really want to have a taste of the setup before buying one in the future. does anyone know or have a video of this plane with the enigne flying 3D stuff?
thanx

Check out Mark Trent's site. I may be wrong, but I think that is what his big orange Yak is, and I know that plane has a DA150 in it. I saw it fly at the XFC and it had enough power to 3D, but it may be just a little underpowered. That is a big plane, don't get me wrong, I do not mean any disrespect to Mark or his plane at all. I just think for the size of that plane it may be just a tad underpowered. Now Mark does toss the thing around quite well with that engine. Now keep in mind, when I saw Mark fly that plane at the XFC it was very hot and humid. I believe the elevation is around 700 feet, and I am pretty sure the plane had stock mufflers installed. I would be willing to bet that with a set of Greeve tuned pipes, and better weather, the DA150 would make plenty of power in that airframe.
Let me just make sure that everybody understands...this is just my obversations of that aircraft. I may be wrong on all accounts, and if so, please correct me. DA makes an awesome engine, I own a 150 myself, and love it. That Yak is just a big plane. Mike Darr |

Tony, if you want to just do 3D the 150 on pipes would be heaps. From what I have OBSERVED the Yak needs a bit more motor if you are into Advanced and above IMAC sequences.

Benny is right. Advanced and above it needs more motor. For just playing around the da is hard to beat because of the lighter wing loading.
