My poor buddy Pete has been determined to protest the fun and ability of "foamies". Since he was a little boy he shunned the idea of flat foam creations. Over the past year I'd say, I have been doing my best to persuade him to the dark side of electrics and flat foam. He now owns a few electrics and has been bitten by the bug. ![]() Pete, it was only a matter of time after your first electric plane. Nothing can save you now as you go deeper in the rabbit hole, lol. I have a few final changes to make to the Monocoupe foamy before it is ready for production. Welcome to the foamy madness my friend! Hi Karl! I think your plane will be done before mine now.

Lol, Hey buddy! Just picked up the paint and carpet for the trailer this past weekend. Wether sucks here so haven't been able to work on it much. I got the Monocoupe on the building board again, hopefully I can get-r-done soon. I'd love to take it to XFC, but time will tell. Hope all is well with you!

'Bout time you showed up again. Missing pitchers and progress on this build. Be a sorry day if I get my little ole GB done before the Monocoupe flies.

Hey Rob. Figured I'd not bug you on the other airframe and revive this one a bit.. You still planning on finishing this one up or have you hit a snag?

Well, I figured I'd update this thread.... Not sure if anyone is interested anymore it's been so long.
With 2 kids now, job, and life in general, I have obviously not been doing much in the way of building. I kinda put the hobby aside when the second kiddo was born so I could focus on family. She is now 6 months old and I find myself having some time to get back into things. It worked out good cause I was kinda burt out on this plane. For the past week or so I have been working on the Monocoupe when I can and am enjoying it and making progress. I have not taken any pics but I had some issues that needed attention before I could continue the build. For example, due to the environment in my basement, I have had several spots of the sheeting swell up and pop loose after sitting so long. I also have an aileron that developed a wierd warp that will need addressed. The other issue was that due to some changes made to the fuse shape after the wings were built(for a more scale appearance) I had a wing fittment (gap) issue to amend. I now have most of the above issues fixed and the wings are very close to being ready to cover. I have also decided to abandon the composite landing gear construction for the sake of getting it done. this comes at an expense of almost 3 additional pounds though. I am ok with that as even if the plane finished at 46# the cubic loading will be only 4.06. I should have the gear in my hands sometime next week and be able to finish the fabrication and mounting of it. I have to cut my wingtube (maybe tonight) before I can get both wings bolted on and that is one more item off the list. When I get the gear in my hands and bolted on I'll snap a few pics of the ol'girl and go from there. I am not going to put dates on finishing anything as all that seems to do make me miss them, lol. I am alive....and I will finish this plane, lol.

welcome back !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I really look forward to watching this progress. I had not flown my 1/4 scale Monocoupe for several months and finally I took it out last sunday and flew the crap out of it. It's funny that with my 36% Sbach and 30% race green Yak that my Monocoupe still draws the most attention.........................go figure

Glad to see you back at it. I definitely understand burnout and family. Do it all the time. That's why I build so slow. Looking forward to the next set of pics.

So I got some time in the shop last night.
Got the wing tube cut, so now both wings can be mounted to the fuse at the same time. I also cut out parts for a new blister plug. I figured since I was going to have to start from scratch on the cowl I may as make the blisters more scale. The original blisters were copies of the amr cowl and a little small for the scale. I was only able to assemble and rough sand the blister but it is a step in the right direction. If this method works well I will use it to make the wheel pants as well.I took a few pics for grins n giggles...
