Maidened my Team Scheme 37.5% Yak today from Aviation Models. I also tried out a set of the new carbon fiber gear. These are unbelievably light and strong and have a scale curve to them. VERY nice. The plane flies sweet and light. Here are a few pics. Craig

Hi cbk,
Great looking plane! I realy like the scheme. Is this scheme available from AM? If its custom made, is it OK if I order one same scheme for me + a friend? Thanks, Ziv |

Thanks Ziv, it shows up great in the air!
I believe they are going to do this scheme as a production scheme with a slightly different metallic blue. If not, I am sure they would be willing to do it for you and your buddy. I will check and get back to you, Craig |

Jay, you will get your wings before I do. I made some mods to mine that I am pretty sure will work. I am keeping my fingers crossed, but am pretty confident they will hold up.
Adrian, the gear are available from Aviation Models and I can tell you they are the nicest carbon gear I have seen. They are molded in a high pressure, high heat mold, and I do not see these breaking or flexing. They also have a nice airfoil shape to them. They have also made molds for the other size models as well as the Extra 260. Gear for most planes should be in the states soon. I will post more after I get some more flights today. The power to weight on this plane is fantastic and the control authority is like something I have never flown. This one is a definite keeper. Thanks for the comments guys! Craig |

Thanks Larry!
Guys, I just spoke with Sammy and he will be happy to do this scheme for anyone who wants one with one exception. They do not have availablity on the chrome blue but will substitute it with an awesome bright blue metallic made just for Aviation Models. It will look just as nice if not better. The blue can be seen here on the flame scheme http://aerobaticmodels.com/Products/35Yak54/9.htm . This Team Scheme not only looks beautiful on the ground, but shows up fantastic in the air. If you want one in any size, just ask for the "Team Scheme" I got a few more flights to day and just love this plane. Here are a few pics my buddy Bryan took |

Craig,
I only see two servos per aileron, are you not getting blow back with only two servos? I tryed two servos, and with some flying speed my roll rate went down he he. If I were limited to eight servos on ailerons and elevator, I would go three on each aileron and only one on each elevator half. The elevators have balancers and although large, they are no comparison to the ailerons. Plane looks good, I like that scheme. I am waiting for wings myself he he. I tryed to repair mine, but they still flex and I am not comfortable at all, so it stays grounded for now.

I definetly wouldnt run one servo per elevator half, way to large for one even with the counterbalances. I have seen one setup that way, and was concerned about flutter when I saw it fly... cant believe it didnt flutter.
Loved that scheme today Craig when I saw it in person. Would have loved to give it a go, but got tired of moving my car around and left. You guys flying tommorow?

Jens, so far so good with 2 8611's but I did predrill the hole for a 3rd horn just in case. I will see how it goes and add a 3rd if I get blowback. Still just setting it up
John, you are welcome to fly it whenever you want. The parking is a pia right now and I know Steve is just trying to keep the property owner happy. I am sure was not trying to drive you out. Next time I see you please take the sticks and see how it feels compred to yours. About tomorrow....I will play it by ear....looks like a pretty stormy day, but who knows. Later, Craig |
