Default What to buy next?

I fly a 2.6 yak and love it .But when I was at Nall for the first time this past may I fell in love with the 150 cc size planes My dilema is which one to buy. I fly IMAC and I am just starting oto fly 3D. I can fly rolling circles ,blenders . I am practicing harriers and hovering. I want a 40% plane that will do harrriers with as little wobble as possible. this will help with my hovering and rolling harriers. Can anyone suugest the plane for me.(Carden ,Aero-works, Godfrey, Comp-arf,aviation models, wild hare????) please let me know the pros and cons for your plane choice
Thanx from some who does not want to make the wrong decision.

Wild Hare's 41% Extra 300 is finally a reality. 121" span is in the 37-38 pound range it has been tested thoroughly and flies great on DA-150, 3w150, 3w 157, and even on a Evolution 116 twin.

The plane has several unique features.

There are two wing tube sockets to accomodate either a very light engine or a heavy one.

The professional version comes with two rudders (one scale, one oversize) and two sets of stabs/elevators. Ones set is for 3d and has huge counterbalances, the other set is for precision and fits the scale rules at contests like the Masters. The pro version (available in the flame scheme or the standard scheme) also incudes a pilot figure and instrument panels.

All surfaces are "pocket hinged" with a CF rod. Throws and drag are symetrical meaning much less trimming and more consistent trim throughout the flight envelope.

The cowl mounts with a cowl ring so no fasteners are visible. It's very easy to assemble and is just a really nice plane.

It's priced right also. The basic ARF which includes two rudders, CF wing and stab tubes, tailwheel, pre-hinged surfaces, and tinted canopy is priced at $1,295. The pro version is $1,550.

Hey Comp ARF,

I might be able to help you soon! I have a CA 2.6 Yak also. Will be getting on a WH 40%er soon. The WH 260, Ultimate and 28% Extra have all flown as promised. The thing that I thought was cool was the person behind a large part of the design shown in that pic above.

So many good choices so little time

Oh yeah since you got the Yak, consider the fact that the WH has the midwing design. So its gona fly very clean with little coupling if any.
Factor that in as well. Hey you also forgot Dalton Aviation and Aerotech!!

I got a chance to fly the prototype 35% dalton 260 down at joe nall. It flew unbeileivably well. I'm sure the 42% one will fly better (if possible)

I second that JTec... That Extra is a very nice looking aircraft.... very. I have a Jtec and they are damned well built and strong. Not heavy, not light, but well built. I have not flown their big stuff, but they seem to look very locked in and solid. At least look into their stuff. They also have tech help here regularly.

Bill Hempel is in a large part behind the 41% design. Tom I am certain had his design end of things in there also, but Bill from what I understand was behind a lot of it. You can even get a Hempel Edition. Tom is a very straight forward person to deal with.

Tony Russo designed or should I say re-designed his versions of the 42% and 35%. If you have not flown an airframe at least built by Tony, then you are missing out! He is pimpin out a WH 260 of mine in his scheme. Before too long I will also fly an airframe of his own design.

Either ARF or kit has its advantages and the right answer to your needs is really up to you.

FWIW I ordered the WH 40%er the other day. Not like I didnt have enough planes already

If you a looking for a Extra 300 then give the Aerotech 42% a look. It flies great. I'm getting ready to receive my second kit! Very good IMAC and 3D machine. If a kit scares you then John at Aerotech will sheet all the foam for you. In fact he can built complete to your liking. Give him a call.
