I'll be using 1 Hitec 5955 on each elevator half, 2 5955's on each aileron, and 3 5955's in a SWB self adjusting servo tray for the rudder. There are 3 servo bays in each wing and 2 servo bays in each elevator if you wanted to go that way.

I might do two servos per elevator half. Not trying to dump a bunch of money in this, but I know the 3D abuse I am going to dish out I think two servos per half might be a good idea. If Tom says you can feel the difference with two per half then I am sure I will need the two per.

3W 150 is slated for the plane but that ZDZ 160 is calling my name
5955's will be used in a similar way. Rudder is going to be the Seiko servo.
Depends on if I get a few bids of my own going in the next couple months for how all out to go. Keeping it simple I think will be the general rule of thumb.

Nah its the 3W 150 that I got. I think its supposed to have a slight edge over the DA 150 in that it can swing a larger prop. Honestly the brand of engine does not bother me much so long as it gets the job done. Someone has flown this with a MVVS 116 and said it would hover no problem and still have power to pull out.

When the plane gets here I will have a better idea of what I want to do. Honestly it has already been flown and tested on several different setups and all seemed to work well. Unless I just have a need to spend a lot on a new motor I think I will roll with what I got.

The nice thing is the plane has two locations for the wing tube ( as pointed out already) so either way you go on a heavier or lighter engine you will be ok.

Sweetpea is correct. The two velcrow straps hold the fuel tank down which sits on top of the tunnel box. The velcro portions you are seeing are glued together (so they don't come apart) but not glued to the box so they can be repositioned, removed, etc. There is some foam rubber between the fuel tank and the tunnel box.

I had the proto type with the MVVS116 and there was no lack of power. It flew it really well and was just an eye opening expierance. If the engine was not going in a 38% Columbo Anderson that I got from Shawn Berkmier I wouldn't hesitate to put it in again. I just recieved my new one yesterday and will be starting on the build this weekend and will be using 5955 all the way around except on the rudder as I do have a seiko laying around.

I guess I could experiment with both engines and see which setup I like the best. A light 40% would be fun for 3D. I plan on running smoke also though.

In another thread Tom said instead of cutting up the cowl for a smaller plane with a similar design to open up the cannister section to allow the cool air to come through the cowl opening and on its way out the cannister opening. Sounds like it could work.

When this plane shows up I am going to have to get rid of some more to make room

I checked that out and its about the same as that .pdf file about the plane. There isn't much in terms of setup to really go about - it will get at least the same setup as my Carden with a few exceptions.

Were standoff's needed for the 3W 150? Thats about the only question I had. This plane is very impressive in its design. Think I might have the first one in the Dirty South
