Default extra 27% for first gas 3d plane

hi,
I need help for you that fly giants, I have a DA-50(still in breaking on a sukhoi 31) and was thinking if the camodel extra 300l 27% would be a good plane, with the DA, for starting into 3d fly with giants planes?
thanks, andré

I have seen some video of them flying with a DA50 and it seems to fly alright, but I have no first hand experience with the plane.

I started out with a Wildhare (cost is excellent) quality is great. The planes weight a little more but mine flew excellent even at 18.6 with DA50 and 23x8 NX. Wasn't a rocket out of hover but would pull out with authority. Look them up www.wildharerc.com

My experience with that little Hangar 9 extra is it is just a hair small on the airframe for a 50. There are lots of 50 size airplanes coming out so keep your eyes open for them Wildhare makes a decent airframe, but as stated can be a bit heavy. Aeroworks, Extremeflight, Aviation models... All have outstanding 50 size frames that are starting to come available.

Seen the video's of the H9 27% with a DA50 flying?
Its awesome. Power to weight is wild.. I have the Same H9 27% Extra 260 with a FPE (40cc) and it flys 3D great with hovers at 1/2 throttle and weighs in a 14.3 lbs.
Ya a DA50 is overkill but thats how i like it. The H9/DA50 combo video appears to fly like my 6lb Katana Profile w/Saito100.. Awesome... my 2 cents worth.

look,

What was landing with that thing like... The ones Ive flown with DA 50's always seemed to want to land a bit hot with that extra weight... Power was crazy though Its a bottle rocket for sure...

Didnt see the landing on that H9/DA50 vid but as light as the Da50 is i'll bet its as light or possibly lighter then my FPE 40cc just more power. As far as landing hot.. That 20" prop slows it to a nice slow landing. Perfect everytime.

Thanks for the posts,
I was thinking that the hangar 9 extra will be a heavy plane as you said. I take a look at wildhare, AM, etc, planes and they are cool, but the only problem is to get then here, the cost from the usa is a little expensive, do you now any place here in europe?
thanks, andré

CAModels 300L would do fine for this. It is at least an excellent 50cc Precision platform and when set up properly will transition into a 3D airplane. Very easy to build also.

I'm also flying the CA 300L and its a great pattern and 3D plane. Mine weighs in at 16 pounds with a Taurus 3.2. No bad habits and lands at a crawl. And you can cover it however you want to.
