Default Composite planes and hysol

Ok folks and Composite masters...which hysol is best suited to the hobby end of things. The glues in question are Hysol 9460 and Hysol 9462. I know that 9460 is used in full scale planes but I do not know much about 9462.

I am going to use the Hysol in a comp ARF. I would like to know if either is also suited for mainly built up planes.

I have been using the 9462 for years with great results. I believe this is the same stuff as Aeropoxy. Craig

I have been using the hysol 9462 on my built up planes, it is much stronger than regular epoxy and so far has not let me down. as I have no composite planes I can not comment there.

Correct!! Except it's less money when you buy it by the 12 pack from Loctite. Works great on composites, wood, etc. My 41% Pitts is mostly built with it

Perfect for composite airplanes , easier than epoxy to work with and lighter.

Thanks everyone! My friend dropped off his dispenser and such. I will order up some 9462 tonight or tommorow. For our hobby its better if you can buy it in bulk rather then nickle and dimed to death from the hobby shops

You can also get it from Krayden.com or any Loctite dealer should have it. Best glue out there

My Compy Extra 330 is 2 yrs old with over 200 plus flights and holding strong.
Great Stuff.

"Tip" " make sure you rough up the area with some 80-100 grit sandpaper before applying.

A lot of guys use the tips. I just dispense the stuff on a playing card, mix it up with a stick and place it where I want. I use gloves to make a good fillet and that seems to save a bunch of epoxy. I love this stuff! Even used it on my boat and my camper. LOL.

I have been hand mixin it cause I dont have the tips. Yeah I think with any glue to get proper adhesion roughing up the areas in question will help.

Hey I guess if its good enough for real planes it can keep pieces from falling off my car better than ductape.
