I didn't even realize they made one. I got the chance to fly one yesterday powered by a Taurus 52 that weighed 14.9lbs. All I can say is wow! I've never flown anything that size that impressed me so much. It was an absolute vertical missile. It floats and harriers with no wing rock, Elevators are striaght down with a little headwind holding only full up elevator. It feels like a much bigger airplane then it actually is. I just cant say enough good about it. I'm definitley buying one as soon as I get the chance.

The first one Jerry made was 14.7 lbs with DA50. An awesome performer. Great flyer. Jerry did an excellent job on this bird. I would also recommend it to everyone. Those at high altitudes, this is your chance. Airwild Extra 260 that would weigh less than 15lbs with most 50cc engines out there.
Jeeum, I'm glad you brought this up. Reza

http://www.airwildpilotshop.com/More...product&id=621 I should also mention that the plane I flew had zero expo dialed in and the normal rates were more like my typical 3D rates and I was still able to really enjoy the plane. |

BTW, this is Airwild original design. I saw the prototype flying at Prado and it was just awesome. Knife edges were unreal. You could take off with less than half throttle!

87'' Span and I think its 78'' long. That makes it a BIG BOI, its longer than most if not all of the 30% Yaks.
The fuse does not have to be big like the Yaks though having a rounded bottom, so it is easier to save weight there too. Wish I had one =) |

I happen to own this airplane. It's the best ARF ( 50cc size ) I've ever flown. So lite, So preciece. Having said that, As a spectator watching JeeUm fly the crap out of my EXTRA
You can really appreciate watching a GREAT pilot flying a very well designed aircraft. As stated, I haven't figured out throws and mixes yet. With throws Way to high and no mixes he managed to fly some IMAC that just looked wonderful!! Then on to the 3-D, Hovering, Harriers, and a bunch of other stuff that amassed me. All within 5minutes of flying a unfamiliar airplane and radio that needs proper set up. Hopefully he will pay us another visit and continue to fly the snot out of the EXTRA! Thanks again JeeUm You made my day, Anyone in the market for a 50cc size aircraft should really consider this one!! I made no mod's to the build. Motor mount and landing gear block are stock and holding up fine. I did manage to dead stick into high grass and found NO damage. The gear block, motor mount did NOT rip out. (to my amazement! ) Heck I didn't even break the prop Zaor 23/8. Probably due to the lite weight of the airframe. So far I am very pleased. I for one will not go back to a heavy 50cc airplane. My cut off is now 15lbs or less RTF. It really does make a difference. I'm hoping Airwild will continue to offer more great kits in the future. Rumor has it they are working on a very lite weight 33% something! Just so happens I'm in the market for a 33 or 35% airplane. ( Winter project ) I just joined Flying Giants and this is my first post. Great web site! I'm enjoying reading all the threads. I would just like to say HELLO everyone! AL |

It is an impressive-looking plane and the weight is right. I hope to see one in person soon...

There is really not much to build, but more having to do with placing components for this airplane. Assembly time is typically a 6~8 hours job to get it ready to fly. Just look over the photos we have on the web and they will give you a good idea what you can expect. Here is the link; AirWild 29% Extra 260 Photos Jerry Bien AirWild Hobbies |
