Default Disappointed with Gold Wing 50cc Sbach

Purchased a 50cc Sbach (Gold Wing) and had to add 1 lb. of nose weight to balance this plane. Yes I did it..... All batteries, throttle servo, etc.. FORWARD.
I have not flown it yet, but just adding that much nose weight tells me someone has not done there homework. The kit went together very well. Well built, covering is good, no problems. Will give you guys more feedback after flying it.

A pound sounds too much. Could you please post pictures of your setup. The manuel says the recommended CG is 6-1/8 inches back from the leading edge. I agree with the above posts. Please recheck CG before attempting to fly.

That is correct, the same manual for all the 50cc planes, sounds weird the CG what motor do you have up front, my mx2 was spot on with the cg, I did not have to add any weight. The early goldwings needed the battery and everything moved up the front as far as possible, batteries needed to be in the cowling.

My manual shows 5 1/3", the manual on Gold Wings website shows 5 2/3". Stephen your manual shows 6 1/8". That's a big differance when your trying to balance a plane.
For your info. I have a DLE 55 with pitts style muffler.

Man with too many watches never know what time it is. Is the CG about on the spar? That should get you close. Or you can calculate the MAC of the wing and set it about 25%.
