So everybody is searching for quieter set ups. Quiet is pretty easy, BUT IT AIN'T CHEAP!! Eddy and Scott Capps from our local club at Triple Tree put their noggins together over a brew and came up with a corker of an idea! Budweiser has introduced the bottle can. Aluminum cans that look like bottles. 19 thousands thick!!! That's just a touch thicker than most popular canister makers use. Plug the opening in rear bottle, drill some holes in the neck, ram it into front bottle and JB weld, then JB weld a stinger out of the back of the rear bottle and there you go,,,3 SETS OF CANNISTERS FOR $6,,, INCLUDING BEER!!!! Even though they are slightly thicker, the overall weight is so close is negligible. Eddy and Scott have taken Pat's directive to heart. Quiet or no flying. These two brothers are working on coming up with inexpensive options to a universal dilemma. Their challenge right now is to tame "FANG". Fang is an old Lazer with a 140 used mostly for giant scale glider towing. I'll keep in the loop and let you know how things go. Right now, FANG has a 3W 140, cut off down tubes on standards "mufflers" and a Bolly carbon 2 blade prop. We'll get DB numbers as is and when they finish. I can tell you the plane is louder than when God sneezes right now. Having Eddy and Scott join our club has been a real blessing (that's Eddy on the left and Scott on the right.) These boys have several ideas on the drawing board right now. Get ready for some GROUND BREAKING INEXPENSIVE SUPER QUIET STUFF FOLKS! Think about it in these terms; how would you like to pay less for a quiet canister system than you do for the motor logo on your cowl? PS,, if you're looking at the diameter of the cans and wondering about a 150,,think length not girth!! 1 more bottle=more cc's!! Thanks Scott and Eddy for your vision!! Biff |

Can you feel it??
REDNECK POWER!!! No inventors were ever successful if they weren't rednecks. And those that weren't rednecks became rednecks for the sheer briliance of improvising. Thus we have inventions like: Lets see here, if I put this wire here and this wire here, what'll happen? voila!wireless internet Granny's complaining about noise trying to get up the mointain, if we put this here, it'll be like a muffler. Voila! More power! Hemi power enters existence How many fire works does it take to fly? voila! The space shuttle was invented etc. And now you know, the rest of the story. 50%

SO who's holding the first annual PIPE building PARTY?!
Gotta empty quite a few "pipes" so we could get started. Then of course, you may get thirsty while building "pipes", so a few more beers may be in order... and that just makes MORE PIPES! Sounds like a win - win situation! I'm in!

Need a little more info there Biff, about how many holes did they drill and drilled hole diameter, and what did they use to plug the bottle neck end.
Got to love innovators, great job hope its the ticket. Thanks, Chuck |
