Default Fliton mini edge motor?

I am going to purchase a Fliton mini edge. What motors would give it great performance using a CC pheonix 25 and 1800MaH 15c 3 cell lipo's? Thanks

Yes, the Hacker A20:20L is the recommended choice for that setup.

I've been running the Hacker A20-20L with an APC 10-4.7 sf prop. That combo draws about 19 amps at WOT. Gives good pullout from a hover and excellent all-round 3D performance. For more scale aerobatics perf, I run an APC 11-5.5E prop.

Its a fun little bird. : )

Here's a vid of mine.....

I started with the AXI 2212/20, very light build @ 20 oz's AUW, but it was not real strong verticle. Just changed over to the AXI 2808/24...WOW! Now this baby pulls HARD. Runs about 250 Watts, 22-23 amps on an APC 10x5E. It's a real good match, and the slightly heavier motor didn't noticeably impact float or flight performance.

Matchless why the SF prop, why not the E for 3D?

Damn Matchless, you make that bird look GOOD! Nice flying!

Moto, the SF props are better for 3D because they make a bigger wind disc (prop blast) over the control surfaces at low rpms to provide better control. The E-Series props are more efficient at speed, and will give you a longer flight and smoother power control.

I liked running the AXI 2212/20 with the APC SF 10x4.7. You have to run a 2100 with a good discharge before you get a lot of power out it. I had the extra at 23.5oz and it had plenty of power. I was reaching 275 watts if i remember right.

I figured it would be about the air movement over the surfaces. This will be my first outrunner and all the numbers confuse me.

Yea Zak, if I put in the 2100 mAH and mounted a 10x4.7, it was much stronger, but that battery really pushes the wing loading up. I started getting some snap in hard pitch pulls. I flew the 2212/20 an 1500 mAH Lipo from Dymond Modelsports that weighs the same as the TP1320... made the AUW just over 20 oz's. But, I like more power too... hence upgrading the motor for ballistic performance. Running a 1800 15C now, so it's up to ~22.5 oz's, but still flys well. I do see the little bit of snappy behavior if I am not careful though.

I built a CF pylon mount to get the weight down.

Thanks Zak... it was fun building. It really takes weight out, and is real strong.
