I missed this previously. Yes, I am flying an Extra. If all I flew was 3D I would only fly Edges. But wanting to get an all out IMAC beast required me to look somwhere else. Tom's Extra is an awesome plane and light. It just does everything very well. I can honestly say that when it comes time for my next 40% plane there will be no shopping around. The Wildhare is incredible quality, light weight, and the price just can't be beat. Dan |

I ordered one last week, and its on the truck for delivery today!! I here lots of great stuff about this airframe. I have a 3w157,but dont know about cans or regular mufflers. Any inputs from u dudes that are flying them? I plan on using jr8611a on all surfaces, but only 1 on elevators 3 on rudder,2ea on ailerons. I am hoping for 39pds. Thanks

Warren,
With this airframe and the power you plan to use the only thing to decide on the exhaust is how quiet do you want it. Obviously it will be lighter with the standard mufflers. I have a DA with the MTW's on mine. It flies so light I would not take the cans off to save weight. The only reason I would take the cans off is for simplicity and possibly better mid range. Dan |

And he's flying one of the prototypes. Production planes are even better.
Just a note about 3d vs. IMAC. This plane was meant to do both. While this usually means a compromise that does neither very well, this Extra 300 is proving to be truly an excellent 3d plane and a world class precision plane as well. It's the 3d performance that surprised me. Every pilot who has flown it and reported back says it's one of the best, if not THE best, 3d plane they have flown. Tom Fawcett Wild Hare Hobbies, Inc. |

At 39 pounds, that's only a 34 oz wingloading - must float like a foamy! Gotta admit, this is the nicest Wildhare design I have seen. Good job!
