Default Am 35% Katana

Just picked it up today, and took a few pictures, quality is great and everything dry fit well. Looks like it will be a good 3D plane. Going with a 3w-106 should be more than enough power, here are a few pics. Brian

Nice plane Brian, Let us know how she flies. The 106 is a monster. That's what I've got in my 35% Yak (my avatar). What radio gear do you plan to use? Sammy and all the guys at AM make solid flying airplanes, I know you'll enjoy it. Congradulations

I was wondering about the hardware that comes with the plane. Are you planning to use it?

For servos will probally use Jr 8611a on everything except throttle reciever-Futaba pcm and batteries will be Fromecos, as far as the hardware, I think the stock hardware will be fine, I might use rocket city control horns. The nice thing is there is alot of room for graphics on this plane.

Tony, That's Aviation Models Katana. Go to www.aerobaticmodels.com. They have them in Blue and Yellow as well.

Thanks,

I need do get some more info from my bro, Vic Sebring, who built it for me. Get this........im on deployment overseas and he was just gonna pic it up for me and do the cowl and mabe mount the motor. I call him 10 days befor I get home to see what he thinks of the plane, and he tells me it almost done and will be ready to fly when I get home! I was speechless to say the least. I was 10 times that when I got there today to see it in person. Having a plane put together by him is about as good as it gets. Every plane (ARF or Kit) he puts together is absolutely top notch and his attention to detail is priceless. I need to get his likes and dislikes concerning the build before I can comment in great detail. But from our discussions today there was very little (if any) he did not like about putting this together. It is the usual excellent quality from Aviation Models.
The color scheme on the first batch of Katana's just did not jump out at me. With some graphics im sure they will be bad ass looking. I have always loved Cub Yellow, and Dark metalic Blue / Purple color combinations. I liked the scheme on their prototype that is in red/silver on the website but hated the colors they used. I asked if they could get me the same design but the colors I wanted. Sammy had his graphic designer draw it up for my approval and whalla.......one beautiful Katana.
I expect to maiden it this weekend....flight report probably Sunday night. Have not weighed it yet but im guessing 25-26lbs at this point. Here are a few more pics:
