Brian, looking fwd to your flight report to compare it to mine. After more flying with mine, it is still awsome for presision. As for 3D, it will snap out entering into a wall or pulling out of a loop to hard. Nothing bad, just enough to keep you honest. I think it's just the design with the tapered wings and the fact im slightly nose heavy. Harriers are steady with only alittle cross control required. Hovering is easy and torq's pretty fast. Im turning a 28X10 Menz-S and im gonna drop to a 27X10 for alittle quicker transition. Had the smoke system all ready to go last weekend, but just could not let the plane get all messy like a glow plane just yet. I have the same smoke system that I pulled out of my 40% Carden Cap 232. Should be awsome in the Katana......
Ken

Was able to fly the Katana yesterday for the first time, have to agree with Ken this is a very true flying plane. We had 20mph winds and did not bother this plane at all, one click of up and one click of left trim. This plane rolls faster than I thought it would, even on low rates, plenty of authority on all control surfaces. The 3w-106 is plenty of power, engine was a little rich on the first flight 1/16 turn on the high end and it sure came to life on second flight. cant wait to fly it on a calmer day.Am has another winner with this plane.

No I did not, my opening on the bottom was alot bigger than kens. The Johnson mufflers sit closer to the front of of the cowl than the Da so I had to cut a square opening on the bottom, was not a problem yesterday, was around 75 degrees.

Ken, what are you using for wing bags for your Katana? I ordered 35% wingbags from airwild, The tapered end wont fit.
Thanks Brian |

I am not positive But I think Aeroworks has bags that fit the 35% Katana.
