There have been some inustry standards change and some law suites lost by Microsoft that affect the way embeded objects work on website. By this I mean the video clips in the gallery no longer work with browsers like they should. Hit vBulletin's website for the 3.6.0 update, this should resolve the problem.

?? say what? Not upgrading to 3.6.0 untill it it hits 3.6.2. Upgrading is a nightmare, and if you understand VB versions, then you probably see that there are extensive modifications to the code here at FG. BTW, videos are not a part of VB. What specifically are you talking about? Can you pm me a link? Thanks for the input, it's greatly appreciated.
BTW folks, videos will continue to play as they always have on the site, nothing has changed. Thanks. Max

Here ya go.
http://www.baekdal.com/articles/Tech...ctivex-update/ This will give you all the info about the change in embedded objects. http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/de...ng_activex.asp and here is Microsofts words on it. I do web dev, so I just wanted to pass it along as I have had to make code changes on a number of my sites as a result of this. I completely understand your feelings on upgrading just yet. BTW, this only affects those using IE, it does not affect those uning Mozilla, Firefox, etc.. David |
