Update on the Extra 260. Finished the paint and covering, ended up not using Lusterkote and went with Dupont automotive paint for the cowl and wheel pants. Just need to finish up the electronics....should be in the air in a week or 2.

Yeh, that's the Aeroworks ARF in the background. With numerous weight saving changes, I have the Aeroworks Edge down to just under 27 lbs. It's a nice 3D plane at that weight. I haven't done a final weigh in on the Extra 260 but after weighing most of the parts, it should come in around 23 lbs as it was advertised. I can't weight to see how it flies at that weight....

The guy building the Mockingbird Aviation 35% 260 that was selling on RCU is named Jim Terrell. He's a good friend of mine and he sent me this video a couple days ago. It might have already hit the posts somewhere else, but I thought I'd put it up here to let you guys see it.
http://www.dodvideos.com/laborday_mikeeast_640480.wmv Enjoy. Thanks, Craig Rideout 325-665-4452 |

lol, that was me flying. It was not planned, but it really did not scare me at the time. All I saw was the plane point towards me as I input down elevator a little early, so I gunned it and got outta there. When we played back the video at the field I was surprised to see how lucky I was that I did not clip the elevator. Yikes... This is a great flying plane though. Mine is 23 pounds with the BME 110 and it flies great.

He was on this site before, maybe he is busy or ???
Tony @ Dalton Aviation has a 35% 260 kit if you aren't able to get one from Roman.... http://www.daltonaviation.com/id2.html

Roman's plane is jig built and he does not offer a kit. I had a very difficult time getting mine because Roman doesn not build full time (he has another job that takes up a lot of his time). You can try his cell phone that is posted on his website to see if he plans on building more.
Like Dave said, if you want a kit of this plane to build yourself, get the Dalton 35% from Tony Russo. |

Thanks
That's explain why Roman did not answer to my emails. -Dalton kits seems heavier than Roman I am whilling to try a 35% Extra 260 with super ZDZ-80 on tuned pipe. I have two super ZDZ and it turns Mejzlick 26x10 at 6800 RPM (hot ) and 6900 RPM cold on KS-95 canister. Put a tuned pipe on it and you break the 7000 RPM. More power than you need on 24-25 lbs. |

I believe Daltons 35% 260 is different than the RBM 260, its a little bigger, and uses sheeted wings.
