Gremlin, I'm a dumbass. I just realised you are Mopar, Now I know your setup.
You cant get all cozy with the gal till you get a motor you can trust. Stick something you know will not die on it and she'll reward you with some of that good stuff

I think I'll really love it. I just can't get this new old stock .51 ST to run right. I am going to stick a small saito on it.

I am not dissapointed, I just cant trust the plane. I have 0 stick time where learning is taling place, only nervousness of augering the thing. I know you guys are probably better builders, flyers, and setup folks, but I will never ever own another 2 stroke for 3D. I can swing 3" bigger prop, more control surface authority at stalled wing(hover, harrier), and not near as horrible sounding. I fly in places where it needs to not ring out 2 stroke annoyance. Just not sure what Saito to throw on it.

If you are buying new I would say an 82 would be hard to beat.

Duuude?? a twist?? What kind of flying do you like to do? Do you fly on the wing most of the time, or are you stalled and thrust vectoring??

Slap that Saito on there and have some fun!

Paul warns to kep it light. I respect that he is the designer..and I want to stay around his parameters.... I am nervous that an 82 would be a brick... We'll see. I can guarantee it wont be a 2 stroke though...

As for what kind of flight? That Mojo is wicked squirrly. It has a very short tail moment. I think I have a line on an 82 to try out. This .51 ST must have a rubber O ring or something rotted in it.It was stinking new, but 14 years old in the box.It was kept in his house, not garage.

Oh, now come on....squirrly!?!?!?!? I've TAUGHT people to fly on planes less stable than a Mojo.

You are losing credibility very fast.

It shouldn't be real squirly.... You might have your CG too far back.. that would make it pitch sensitive. To check the CG, trim for level flight, then flip it inverted. If it climbs when you fly it inverted... it's tail heavy.

I am definately nose heavy. Required a few clicks back to keep it upright and level.... I'll need to reCg it anyway with new motor. I wanted to be conservative... on the 6 deadstick flights that is out of 6 flights...

Still got mine in the box here, just gotta get around to building it. Just going with a well used .46fx on a tower hobbies muffler. Never felt the need for more power on any .40 size profile I've owned.
