Default Fayette Model Aviators Fun Fly, Airshow and Swap Meet - Sept. 17th

Well, we had a GREAT Grand Opening! Chris and Greg broke the field in right with the big boy planes, and put on one hell of a show. The members had a great time, we joined up new some new members and life has been good to us since June.

Now, we are going to try to get into puting on some more for the community to see. We are located right off a main highway on the outskirts of town, with a new YMCA being built behind us... So we get a lot of traffic, and even more questions. We have been asked by many people in the general public when we were having another 'airshow'. Here it is!

September 17th FMA is having a Fun Fly, Airshow and Swap Meet. All who are interested, and within a reasonable distance (or feel like traveling), please... Come throw your plane in the air!

Roger Barnes will be conducting about 4 Fun Fly events (he won't tell me what they are, he's afraid I'll practice and actually get decent at them.. whew, that would take a lot!)

Anyways, more info is available on our website, along with directions to the field, and of course the flyer ( http://www.fayettemodelaviators.com/...pt17FunFly.pdf ).

Yes, folks. The rumors are TRUE!!! I will be in attendance on the 17th.

Jay, any chance of getting a sound system there?? Or getting a generator so I can bring my PA. I would like to do some Freestyle demo's, with music. The SR. Bunk knows about my PA system. It ROCKS!!!! Only thing is, if I bring my PA, I need to drag a trailer with me for the bird......... And yes, I would be doing videos for admittance to the '07 XFC.

Bunk SR!!! Please plan on attending this event. Need your help!!!!!

Steve, PM me some directions again, please.................. Coming from Dayton.

Thanks!!

Chris~

Mr. Funky K. Bunkles,

Take I-70 East (that would be toward Columbus for all of you left handers).

Exit #59 (Route 41 South) That would be a right turn off the exit - if your heading east on I-70.

Stay on Route 41 through South Charleston, South Solon, and Jeffersonville.

You will cross over I-71 and pass a Flying J truck stop on your right - continue to stay on route 41.

You will go past Miami Trace High School on your left.

Continue on route 41. You will go around a sharp curve to the right. Just past that curve is the road (turn right) that takes you back to the club field.

It is appx. 52 miles from downtown Dayton to downtown Washington Court House.

And yes, we can have a generator there if needed!

Later

Yup, you can do that to. Depending where you get on in Dayton as to how close either way is. You would just have to go north on I-71 three miles to route 41 back south if you come out 35. Either way would be good I suppose.

I'll talk to Jay about the PA. One way (Damn this is starting to rhyme a lil much) we will get a PA for the day, that would be cool wouldn't you say.

Hey all, I would jus like to throw out that if you can make it to this event it would be BAD ASS! This is our first fly-in at the new field. The new location is not even a year old yet but it ROCKS! and truly does have the FG vibe to it. To quote the Biffster "No ego's, no attitudes, just fly'n and havin fun"
Long story short: We use to fly at the local airport for years, never a problem and all was cool. Wellllllllllll when the FAA found out about this they didn't like it at all and the airport put a screeching halt to all RC flying. We went about a year and a half with no home to call our own. Thru the hard work of a few the City of Washington Court House finally agreed to lease us the land we are on now. Now with all that being said, We have been able to grow as a club quicker and bigger than anyone thought (including ourselves) Even the City Manger made a comment to us about that. The City really is behind us and wants to support us but we have to show them that aeromodeling is as awesome, family oriented, safe, fun, great for the youth, etc, as we ALL know it is. The more we can show aeromodeling for all the great things it is the more help we can receive from the City (Read: paved runway, more land, bathrooms, etc) that in turn will help our club achieve its number one goal of being able to involve the community and youth. Ok off the soapbox now, hope to see ya there! Steve
