Default Comp-Arf Extra 2X2

Comp-Arf is selling their Extra 2X2 for under $500. Haven't heard to much about it. Anybody have one or seen one that can tell me anything about it.. how it flies, quality, looks...ect.?

The reason I'm asking is closest local field (5 mins away) has size, engine, and noise restrictions. The closest field where I can fly the bigger sized planes is 1 hour away. I need to practice my IMAC sequences as much as possible. I thought that the 2x2 might be practical as a daily trainer, if the flight characterists are good. I just don't want to get a dog. Can't find much in the way of reviews or opinions on it though. Maybe it hasn't been a very good seller for Comp-Arf and they're trying to unload their inventory.

Dan

it looks really cool, flies smooth and does extreme 3d really nicely
i put a da50 on that, and it hovers @ about 1\3 trottle.
it's a great plane!
take a look @ my gallery! http://www.flyinggiants.com/gallery/...ry.php?cat=527

It's a good plane but it is not IMAC legal. So if you;re looking for an IMAC machine get the 2.3m

I have the Red/Yellow version, ZDZ50/23x8 Mejzlik/JMB Pitts/smoke system/ 5945’s all round.
Not a light model, but does fly real well, loony amount of power with the ZDZ.
Usual Comp-ARF quality, very easy build ( apart from the motor mount which needs a bit of time to get right, manual shows DA50 installation, with a template drawing)
Keep the back end as light as possible, only gripe is you can’t get enough down in 3D rates without removing the lip on the underside
(not advisable)

Brought mine on a ‘ euro ‘ special price promotion, worked out cheaper than a lot of balsa/film models.

Good flying
Tony

Thanks for the info, looked at your pic's. Really liked the one that shows the engines with the green and red painted cylinders.

well, those are 3w 112 & 212 a bit too much for a 2x2!

Size wise? I looked at the IMAC rules and didn't see a requirement for size, just that the model had to be 10% in appearance/proportion to the full size.

There is a size requirement. I dont know which size exactly, but i know that the 2X2 is small for entering in imac.

I don't see anything in the rules about size. Also, you can fly without a pilot or panel, you just get a 1% flight score deduction.
