Default 35% Giles IMAC Legal

Evening all,

I am chasing a Giles (or a Raven) for my first IMAC plane.
Would want it to suit DA100 & either composite or built up would do.
Airwild do a Giles but it is 44% i think. (Can't afford the extra cost of a 150 size model)
Aviation Models do a 35% but i know nothing about the company & dislike the colour scheme.
The other choice is a Raven (Oracle scheme of course) but i don't think it is IMAC legal & have never seen one advertised.
The reason for the strange choice is most people have Extras, Cap's or Edge's and I guess i just like to be different.
I have been onto IAC's web site to find something different, but you then need to find a manufacturer.

Any help would be appreciated

Cheers

Thanks Rusty.

I'll check them out. Might be good for a zdz80.
Going to find Airwild's aussie agent this week for more info.
I've been checking out so many manufacturers in the last 2 weeks i had Airwild & Comp ARF mixed up.

Might see you at Albury

Cheers

The Probuilt will fly well on a 3W 80 or ZDZ 80. I have flown one with a 3W75 and it flew well dispite being over weight.

The Airwild Giles is a heavy piggy wigge, wont even balance with a DA 100 .

Raven is definetly IMAC legal, because there was a full scale version designed, built, and flown by Wayne Handley. It uses a Zivko wing, with a straight leading edge like from the Edge 540, so it has some similar characteristics when it comes to stalls, spins, and snaps. I love the look of a Raven and would have one here in a heartbeat if we had some choices here in the States.

Thanks for the info

Have you had a bad experience with one?
How much nose weight did it need?

Throw out the Airwild Giles. The skin hinges have issues. Spend your money elsewhere.

Sounds like the go.

Could you send me some details on the 2.45m painted version.
Is this version IMAC legal?
Price?
Any recommended hardware packages?
Availability?
Inclusions?

I am most interested.

Thanks

Jamie I can see nothing in the dimensions of the Probuilt 35% Giles that would make it not legal for IMAC. Adam Talbot in SA has just finished one and reckons its a very good sequence plane. I currently fly a Comp ARF 44% Giles in IMAC and would not hesitate to get another one for IMAC if the need arose. Ive flown a few of the 3m comp arf stuff and like the Giles the best so far(probably cause its mine). Mine will be at Albury if you make it there.
