Muchas gracias Senor Bolio!

Jack, yu a vewwy funnee guy! Har har!

The color match (or lack thereof) was really starting to get to me, so I took the wing to a Johnny Mojo's house to match it up against some of the rolls in his monokote bin.... And unfortunately, it was not even close between the two wing panels.....

So out came the exacto knife, and off came the red monokote. I left the red root on the wing because it did not make sense to me to scribe a line in the sheeting near the root of a wing just because the colors didn't match... (why on earth would I put a stress riser there.....?

At the hobby shop, I pulled every roll of red they had. I found 4 different shades.... but only two different part numbers. The labels were all so messed up that I gave up on matching by label and started laying out rolls against the wing. That found me a good match.

This evening, I got the chance to re-lay the red base color, and to do all the striping and checkers. I think it turned out pretty nicely. I laid the checkers and the stripes with the Windex method, and they turned out very nice and smooth with no bubbles. That is a great method for getting trim in place correctly.

Here's a couple pics...

An order from Troybuilt should arrive this week, and I'll be 95% of the way to getting this bird in the air. Asthetically, its done. Now it needs to be rigged.....

Ya know, if you had bought your Monokote at Midsouth Hobbies you wouldn't have that problem....

More down... and another day to sit it in the sun and get a pic....

I made the cannister mount this morning. Its a precut part from Troybuilt with a base added. I painted it to make it oilproof, but I don't know that it will do much

I also took a moment to get the ignition and cannisters mounted once the mount was done..

So Mr. Jeremy,, you're REALLY starting to piss me off. The clean Triumph Tr-6 in the garage, the edging around your drive way. The well cut grass. AND STILL HAVE TIME TO BUILD?!?! My dad can get stuff done like that too. "You have exactly the same amount of hours in a day as Einstein, Plato, Socrates and Franklin."
I can either keep the wife happy, the grass cut (it does take 12 hours) the cars running (with oil) the equipment running, work, OR build. Tell me how you do it!!!! Nice looking repair dude. I remember that plane well. Flew awesome. Glad you're going pipes,, you won't regret it!!

Ahhhhh, the secret is that my little girl has not been born yet. Give me a couple of weeks and that will change. The little woman is ready to pop right now... I remember all the good advice you gave me earlier this year when I found out I was going to be a dad!

You noticed the TR6 , tell ya what, next time you're in Memphis, I'll take ya for a ride in it...

With any luck, the Edge will be in the air in a month or so. After hearing others birds with standard muffs, I think I'll like the pipes.

Will do Biff.....

Little more done tonite. Got all the hardware for the servos installed. Went pretty quickly, but I'm thinking I bought turnbuckles that are too long... will need to change them out to get the right geometry.

I needed to get the fuel tank mounted, so I made a ply mount plate. I'm using velcro straps to secure the tank to the mount (need another set to make it complete) and the plate is screwed to 1/4" ply mounts which are glued into the motor box area on 1/4" hard balsa cross pieces. Mount came out pretty nicely.
