I own G3 but I've heard lots of great things about AFPD. Might have to check it out!

All the aerobatic and 3d flyers at my field sold their g2 and g3 and got apfd.
They all swear by it.

I've never seen it. I've only seen G2 and G3 at a hobby shop. My G3 was a pain in the butt to install and it always has problems.

I just bought the AFPD, and I am looking for a G3 cause it seems some club members meet up at night and fly. I guess it's the next best thing to the field ?!?

It would be nice to fly with others online, but I haven't touched my G2 since I got AFPD

G2 and G3 are archaic compared to AFPD.
The online thing may be a fun "game" or hang out, but the visuals of AFPD and (with the right plane) realism of flying is simply amazing! G3 needs to step the game up. Maybe G4 will smoke AFPD, but untill then I'm an AFPD Boy.

If you want to learn to Hover down on the deck or do anything 3D or High Alpha (Harriers, Rolling Harriers, Elevators, Waterfalls)... you gotta go with AFPD. I simply could not do it with G2 and the G3 that I've tried at the LHS is not much better in my opinion.

People say AFPD is too easy. This is partly true as you are flying 40% aerobats in AFPD. Try to do the same thing with scaled down version and you will quickly find out it is not so easy. Actually I find AFPD very close to being life comparing it with my C-A Yak

Does it always do that?

The aerodynamic physics in AFPD are nearly dead on, if it seems too easy to fly a plane then it is in the setup of that plane. All aspects of the plane's parameters can be changed to make it more realistic.
I have found that most all of the planes that come with the software fly very realistically and a few of the ones I have downloaded were a little too easy and flew a little too light. Just added some weight and moved the CG and now they fly just like the real thing.

Not this again. All I can say is this, i've been practicing on g3 for a year now, and everytime I get a new manuever down on g3, it's much easier in the real world, meaning g3 is a great training tool. Now, when I turn AFP on, OMG!!! I can do 10 point rolling harrier figure 8's... with no effort compared to what i'm used to. Just way way too easy. My overall impression of both:aerofly is something fun to play with after a long days work. But if you want to really work on your skills, g3 is the way to go.

I have both G2 G3 and AFPD and all that i can say is that G3 is the best - on AFPD my planes won't blender worth a darn - yes the graphics are better than G3 but now with G3s photo fields its about even . . . .

I have G2, AFPD and Reflex XTR. AFPD is good, but I like the physics best on XTR, not as glamorous, but more real.
