I guess it is true that one can't judge a product from a very short trial flying as opposed to giving an opinion based on stuff one owns.
I guess it is time to hit the stores and buy G3 and XTR. I am pretty sure I will still say AFPD rules in the end. |

I know this has been hashed out forever and ever, but I have an opinion too...
AFPD gets my nod for most used, but the planes are too easy to fly. They fly even easier than a 40%, but this has an advantage as well. I was wanting to learn a rolling loop, and by slowing down the sim to 75% I could get used to stick movements, then slowly sped it up until I can do it at 110%. Now I can do it at the field (sometimes) where I could not even do a rolling circle 6 months ago. G3 flies a bit harder than the real deal, but if you can fly it, you can definitely fly AFPD. Not to mention online play is a blast. G3 is also capable of all the maneuvers you can throw at it, while AFPD planes are too light and slow for the most part. Still a blast. I love them both, and glad there are so many choices. |

Biff:
What is the typical traffic here per day? It looks like only 37 reported having AFPD and total of 48 having simulators. |

I luv AFPD. it is far superior to any other simulator for true 3D physics. The only thing that gets me down tho is that the G3 guys can meet up on a night. It must be good
If Ipacs added this feature it would be brilliant. still AFPD is an absolutley brilliant sim. IMO the best.

What about Reflex XTR?
I have G2, played with G3, didn't like it. I will probably pick up AFPD caue it looks good. The Reflex seems extremely real, but it is limited for planes. |

Thanks! I think perhaps on FC? Not sure if the video is on DOD. To All: Finally AFPD vs G3 at 2:1 ratio. I was sure it was going to be a landslide with all the AFPD talk but I guess not. |

i use both but prefer the G3 in most aspects. i only really use AFPD to fly in the gym. i also like the versatility of AFPD with the downloadable planes and sceneries and such. however when it comes to physics i prefer G3 hands down. just my opinion.

AFPD comes in two styles.
cheaper one is called interface version that you plug your tranmitter into more expensive one comes with control box called usb commander. http://aeroflypro.com/purchase/ |

Had G2, sold it. Bought AFPD Commander Version. AFPD is very good - Commander is complete Junk. I now use AFPD exclusively with my 9C. I do add weight to the planes and speed up the sim and it seems darn close to the real deal....
