well i have been flying both quite a bit since my last post. I still find AFPD to be way too easy. Also it stalls and like drops like a rock when you pull the power off in like a harrier. I mean ovcourse its gonna fall but it shouldnt be that instantaneous. However flying G3 i have learned alot. I like it for precision aswell. it really makes you work for your maneuvers. It has improved my rolling circle combinations. It seems way better for the high speed stuff. AFPD seems just weird. cant explain it just seems wrong. Anyway there both a blast but i think G3 makes you work alot harder for wat your doing. Whether its precision or 3D.

OK.. because of this thread I picked up the new version of G3...
DAMN... improved A LOT since I last used it.

Looks JUST as good as AFPD, and I do think it flies a bit more realistic...
BUT still only gives you like 8 planes... 4 of which are cool.

But I was wrong earlier... G3 is very cool now... totally different than AFPD... I would say both are BAD ASS in their own way.

for what its worth I have both afpd and an older g2.I prefer the afpd over the g2 as was said the physics are the best ..I am somewhat dissappointed however with the resource plans that you can download free from afpd..there was a german site that had hundreds of aircraft for the afpd but I see its off line .with g2 you get lots of planes and helis provided you purchase the add-ons.as for ease of flying...I know its not the real McCoy but it doesnt cost anything to crash! and being snowbound it is fun for an hour or so in the evenings till I am out tearing holes in the sky..

Yes..I have G3 too. I still like G2. I have more planes to fly for free like you said it isn't that real. However being snow bound it keeps me on the sticks. Period. That way I don't feel as lost! It is still fun to get on the computer and do this every time I sit down at the computer. At least I get a little stick time and dream of the summer, warm weather and girls in shorts and belly shirts! HA HA HA!

I bought an AFPD last month and feel it's a pretty good SIM. It seems to have one problem or it may be my Computer. Help me out here Guys. After about 20-30 minutes the screen goes black. You still have audio. Then in about 5 seconds the picture on the screen comes back up! Has anybody experienced this other than me?

Thats a new one Tex. Never seen that before.. do you have a screen saver on?
That sounds like that might be the culprit! Turn off all screen savers... cause think about it,
your mouse dosn't move for hours when your flying... so it may be kicking in a screen saver or monitor power saver! Hmmmmmm check that!

PS: I'll try to call tonight.... my ability to get on the Horn and Chat HAS BEEN LIMITED the last two weeks!
Sorry!
