Default 55 Gallons of Glow Fuel in a Season???

OK boys, I've got a BS'er here at work I think. He says that back in his pattern days, he and a buddy would go thru a 55 Gallon drum of glow fuel in a single season. They would only fly on the weekends and would burn 16oz tanks in their planes with .60 size 2 strokes... You think he's messin' with me? How much glow fuel do you guys go thru? I can imagine that living in the perfect climate and flying every day, that's possible...but on the weekends in Chicago??? I know he wasn't flying in the winter or when it was raining...so... whattaya think? Keep in mind, this was before quick charging days and no lithium battery days, so recharging at the field was non-existent...

Well if it was with his buddy that would give him 27.5 gallons a piece. 3520 ounces are in 27.5 gallons and you devide the 3520 by 16 "fuel tank size" and that is 220 flights. I would say that is not bs if he was a person that liked to fly quite a bit.

I go through about 100 cases of Bud Light a year. Does this count!

Not BS,

220 flights would be about 6 flights per day, every weekend for 4.5 months. In Chicago it's easy to fly from April to October.
